Charlotte is a beautiful name, but go with your gut! If you really love Devon for this baby, do it!

The only Devon I have ever met was a girl around my age, but she did spell it Devin. I think its a great strong name and with a feminine middle like Grace, you are set.

Disclaimer: I myself am in love with a pretty masculine name for this child if it turns out to be a girl.

Since Devon is what you are feeling is the right name for your baby, I'd go with it!
OMG, this is another thing that I've ALWAYS thought about...lol! But I was thinking that we'd constantly get asked, "Were they named for the places they were conceived?" lol! Another thing to add is that we're actually planning to relocate to Charlotte, NC in the next few years, so maybe she wouldn't appreciate having a first name that matched her home town...

Our plan was always Charlotte with the nickname of Charlie, but another thing is that we have a cat named Harley and when we ask my daughter to say Charlie, she says Harley and runs to the cat...lol. I don't think it's a huge deal but DH does for some reason. There's just a lot of things steering us away from Charlotte right now - and seeing how many people prefer Charlotte over Devon, it very well may be the #1 name of the year! lol...

Charlotte and Georgia aren't place names... they are ancient, classic names. Those places were named for that same reason. Charlotte, NC is named for Princess Charlotte, the wife of King George III. The state of Georgia was named after King George II.

I love, love, love both of those names! I think the reason why they are becoming used again is because they are fresh sounding to modern ears, they are pretty and they are classics.

You and I both know that, but the general public - and the people who will be bugging me about it for years to come - don't know and nor do they care...lol.

I'm pretty set on Devon, but if she pops out looking like a Charlotte, I reserve the right to change my mine

Devon was on our list! but we would have spelled it Devin. I didn't want the chance of misprouncing it De-von, ykwim?

I do, however, like Charlotte just as well.

I like Devon a lot. I almost named my little one Charlotte, we'd have called her Lottie or Charlie, I am glad we didn't because I hear that name often.
Natalie Grace is what we went with, although I am hearing that often now too!

Well, while we're still leaning more towards Devon, it's still a toss up. Not sure if we'll choose one over the other before she gets here - it might have to be a game-time decision! lol...

I've never heard Devon used as a girl name; I've only ever encountered boys with it.

Personally, I like Charlotte, but if Devon is what you want then go for it! It's your baby. You can name her whatever you want. Charlotte is incredibly popular right now, which normally turns me off and I assume it's the same with most the other mom's around here, too.

Great middle name choice, by the way.

I think that if in your heart of hearts you're feeling this baby is Devon, then you should definately name her that! Plus, the cat thing would throw me off too...I don't know why lol

Having said that, I like the sound of Charlotte Grace better, but I don't think it goes well with Georgia. Plus, I know of three Charlottes born in the last year, but I've never met a Devon.

I picked Charlette, but it was hard, I like both of them. All of my kids have names that go for girls or boys. I think you will know what this little ones name will be as soon as you meet her.

Congrats!

I have trouble with the spelling of Devon, but have known several women with the name Devin. I do know of little boys with the same spelling, but I think it is equally accepted for both.

I voted for Charlotte as I think it goes brilliantly with Georgia. But, I agree that you need to go with where your heart is.

I like Devon. That is DD1's (13yo) middle name.

ITA! I prefer Charlotte to any version of Devon.

Well, we've made a final decision...

Based on how many people love the name Charlotte and based on it's ever growing popularity not only here but with so many others IRL...

We've decided it's going to be Devon Grace!

Thanks for all your input - all of your votes for Charlotte actually really did give us pause over how popular it's becoming, and it really did help us to know that Devon was the name of our baby girl

Thanks again, and Happy Mothers Day to you all!

Charlottes cute, but I have known a lot of them, and it is pretty popular now. Devon, I can only think of two I've ever known, both girls (actually one is a very girly girl and it still totally suits her)...and I like it better
