First appt-not great news UPDATE post #46

So my first appointment included a dating ultrasound. According to my LMP, I
should be 8 weeks tmrw. All we could see was a yolk sac, indicating a 5 week pregnancy, nothing else. We couldn't have conceived this baby later than March 21st or 22nd. The OB said it was way up in my uterus, so the angle could just be really bad, but she wasn't very hopeful. So, they've just drawn blood for a hcg level, and I'm supposed to go back on Saturday for another and come in next Thursday for another ultrasound. All assuming I don't miscarry by any of those appointments.....

This really sucks. I have a work appt in an hour that I can't reschedule and I don't know how I'm going to hold it together.

Got through work without losing it.

I do have symptoms: fatigue, nauseau, wierd hunger stuff. The only thing that's different from last time is my breasts aren't tender really. My nipplesa are sore when DS does the two minutes of nursing he does at bedtime, but that's it.

The limbo willbe torture this week. We also have a family wedding in two weeks that a bazillion relatives are going to be visiting for. I REALLY don't want to be miscarrying or making decisions about a D&C in the middle of it.

I just wanted to offer some hugs, Mama.

At 8 weeks if the baby is sitting really high and you have retroverted (even slightly) uterus, they won't be able to see as much. I have heard this happening NUMEROUS times. Try and hold out hope. Especially if you are having pregnancy symptoms.

I also want to tell you that this pregnancy my breasts were not sore/tender at ALL, whereas with DD they were so sore from day one that I couldn't even have clothes touching them half the time.

Thank you for the good wishes everyone. Only my husband and mother know what's going on, so it's nice to know there's others routing for us.
I got my first hormone level back and my hcg is at 55,606, which is good news I think. It's much higher than a level at 5 weeks would be, so far as I understand. Now we just have to see if goes up, which I don't think I'll know until Monday.
