I am not really sure of what the problem really is, but I just got my first AF since my DS was born 5 months ago and he is been acting up while bf since then.

Less milk, to fast of a flow or does the milk taste different ??anybody else have an idea what can cause this?

Many women experience a drop in supply during AF. Taking a Calcium/Magnesium supplement can help balance it out! Hope that helps!

this is me. i take extra calcium/magnesium/zinc starting just after ovulation and until about cd3. millie nurses like crazy from about cd 26-cd1 (i have a 28 day cycle). it's due to the sudden drop in progesterone that brings on af. i'm usually low progesterone, so mine is exaggerated.

you can read more about the supplements here : www.lowmilksupply.org

I always thought that progesterone restricts the milkproduction?? Maybe I got that wrong, but somewhere I read that you should not take progesterone supplements while nursing cause of the milkproduction problem

you also have a surge in estrogen and, if you aren't pg, this brings on af. progesterone is low, estrogen high. in my case, my progesterone goes super low, which allows for more estrogen. progesterone in super high amounts, such as those during pg, can affect milk supply, but too much estrogen is worse. and mine is exacerbated by the extremely low progesterone.
