Good, cheap covers for daycare?

DD2 will be going to daycare starting at 5 months, and they're willing to use prefolds and covers but insist that a cover be used only once before washing. We have 6 of each size, so we'd need to invest in at least a few more but more likely doubling our cover stash so that we have a few for at home and could miss a day of washing without running out.

We CDed DD1 with prefolds and BSWWs exclusively, and that worked out great for us at home; but this is my chance to try something new. What will hold up best to constant washing? We loved our velcro BSWWs, but we had to replace the velcro after DD1 because we wore it out with long-term use (she's on the smller side); would snaps provide as good of a fit?

A store near us has prowraps for $3 less each than the BSWWs, and I'm wondering if that would be a good option. This is probably our last kiddo, so we'd like to avoid spending more money than we have to but want to get something that works and works well.

Thoughts?

I'd definitely do proraps. In fact, you may be able to get ahold of proraps seconds for only about $4 each, IIRC. There's an 800 number around here somewhere. They used to be $3, and became available at a certain time every month (the first?), but the last time I bought the seconds was 10 years ago so I'm sure things have changed a bit.

If they will be pinning or snappy-ing you could do the nylon pull-up style covers. They tend to be the cheapest and I think should hold up well since there's no closures. And I think they'd smoosh down well under clothes. I haven't used them though, maybe someone else can comment on that part.

The proraps seconds is a good idea too. And hey, once you're done with them if they're in decent shape you can always sell them off or donate to miracle diapers or something.

The Dappi Nylon pull-ons are cheap and good!

I'd go with Proraps seconds, or see if you can snag a good deal on some gently used BSWW. Bummis Whisper pants are pull on, and inexpensive.

We've had luck with the Gerber diaper covers you can find at Walmart/BRU. They cost about $1.25 a piece. They have held up pretty well with multiple washings, but we definitely don't wash with every diaper change. We air dry them.

I second the prowraps or if you don't mind just a couple extra $$ Nikky's covers are well worth it and your daycare won't have leak issues with them. They are awesome and worth every penny.

Dappi's seem to be popular for the diaper pants and prowraps are probably a a good choice.

I really like Thirsties Duo Wraps, and they come with snaps now (I haven't tried them yet, so can't speak as to fit until my order comes later this week). They cost more than other other suggestions, but I really like the gussets and fit and size adjustment.
