Anyone with seizures BFing?

Thread Starter
This is for my friend, to see if I can somehow offer advice, as she is anxious and crushed. Yesterday she had a seizure while home alone with her 1 year old daughter. It has been 11 years since she's had one. She says it would of course be best to go on anti-convulsant meds (I think thats what they are), but that she would be forced to wean. She wants to try to manage it naturally or with safe medication, as she does not want to wean.

Any words of advice much appreciated!

yep. I take Lamictal. Does she have a neurologist to speak with about starting it? It takes quite a while to increase the dose to a therapeutic level.
to your friend, it must be very scary for her!

Hi,

I am 37 weeks preggers with my 3rd.  I have been on 200mg Lamictal for whole pregnancy and am planning on breastfeeding.  Were you concerned about the rare rash you can get from being on Lamictal?  Any other symptoms you were watching for in your baby?  thanks!
