Please help, driving myself crazy!

Hello everyone, I'm new here and was wondering if someone could please offer some insight.

I'm almost pretty sure I experienced implantation bleeding 8 days after ovulation. I've never had spotting before, and only noticed it when I wiped. It was a very light pink-brown. I thought perhaps it was the start of AF, but it only happened twice, about half and hour apart when I had to urinate, and that was it.

Up until yesterday, AF was 14 days late.

Immediately after conception, I had the worst congestion ever which lasted for about five days. I also experienced a headache, and have been feeling incredibly emotional. Overall, I just really "feel" pregnant.

I took a couple of HPT and they both came up negative. I also went to the doctor and took a blood test and that was negative too.

I've been reading online that some women never get a positive test until the fifth month. Can I be one of those women?

But now that AF is here, I've been reading that some women get their "periods" throughout their pregnancies. Can also be one of those women?

Or, even worse, am I miscarrying?

I'm really driving myself crazy here. If it was a phantom pregnancy, then what was the spotting I experienced very early on after conception?

Please help!

from what i understand, the rare women who dont get pos hpts, it has to do with their urine, how their body metabolizes hcg. it shows up in the blood on time.

Sorry, but I think you're better off obsessing to try again next cycle I mean, you very well COULD be one of those women, but frankly i don't believe that happens very often; if your period is a lot lighter and shorter than usual it could be a possibility. I wouldn't rule out trying again this month though, keep trying!

Are you charting your cycles? Do you by chance have a link you can share?

From how it sounds to me... you did not ovulate when you think you did and ovulated likely around what you think was 8dpo or a bit further after that.

A blood test giving a false negative would only happen if you are tested before the hcg hits your blood stream so I would have to say its not likely you were pregnant.

Bear in mind... even with perfect timing between two perfectly healthy people it can take several months to conceive! You only have around a 20-30% chance of pregnancy any given month where all of the factors are just right. So not being pregnant this cycle would not mean anything is wrong with you.

Thank you all so much. We weren't TTC, but we weren't exactly going out of our way to prevent it either, so I haven't been charting.

I've just been really, really stressed because I'm anemic, and was worried if I was indeed pregnant, I wanted this baby to get all the proper nutrition it needed to grow strong and healthy. I just wasn't sure if I should've up-ed my iron intake, but was also afraid of the toxic effects of iron overload.

Just other day I saw a program on the television where a lady gave birth with out even knowing that she was pregnant, and this would probably be my biggest fears with anemia. I sure hope I'm not one of those very rare women.

My blood test came up negative, and this was done almost 20 days after conception. The doctor said that it was "0". So I guess, in addition to what everyone has posted here, it's safe to say that I'm not pregnant. It's weird because I really thought I was, and convinced myself that my HCG levels just weren't being detected. Mostly though it was the implantation bleeding that really threw me off, as I never experienced that before. Wow, the mind sure is a powerful thing.
