Thanks for the advice. I'm trying to change her promptly and its usually 1 hr between changes, unless she's sleeping. When I've tried prefolds, it has been with a thirsties cover and a microfleece insert. I know there are cheaper options, but thats what came in my cloth diaper trial kit.
I think maybe I'm worrying too much about being like other CD moms. Its not as much a money thing (Luckily I can afford pockets...I budgeted for LC and CDs and breastfeeding is going great so there's extra for CDs), but more my obsessive planning side wanting to plan wisely. And I guess maybe part of me worries that I'm not as good at CDing as other mamas since I'm not enjoying prefolds. (I know this is stupid, but it does seem like the die-hard natural mamas use prefolds and wool and wouldn't put a BG pocket on their kid). I keep hearing about stink problems (I haven't had these, although I wash almost every day) and velcro problems (I anticipate these) and I worry that even though its going well now, it might not be great later...but ultimately I want to stick with Clothdiapering and when I use pockets I feel excited about it and when I use prefolds I feel tempted to give up, so maybe I just need to not worry about prefolds? |
Its like anything else, do what is best for YOUR family. If you like pockets, then I vote you use pockets.. maybe you'll eventually like prefolds and maybe you'll end up only wanting AIOs... either way you are weighing what is best for your baby and for you
