Some people just like to complain about anything

I'm a mom of 9 too....we recycle WAY more than anyone else I know. With a big family money is more of a concern in our house so we really try not to waste anything. We don't consume a lot of "ready made" products so I know that helps too.

When people try to play the "environmental" card with me (my BIL is one of those people) I always look at them and say "Yet here YOU stand in front of me sucking wind and that doesn't seem to bother you. What makes you a better contribution than my children? "

All children are gifts not liabilities.

I always get a laugh when I hear all the "Overpopulation" worries and things of that nature.

I usually just tell people that my children are going to be an asset to the world.

I am also constantly amazed at how my family of eleven lives on half as much as my Mom (a household of 1) and my brother & SIL (a household of 2) and yet we are just as "well off".

I agree that consumption rate is much more important to limit than population.
