Becoming an authorized user on someone's account...

I'm doing some work for my mother...she has a ton of flowerbeds that need to be cleaned up and replanted. Last weekend we spent a bunch of time at different nurseries looking at plants and did her container gardens. She HATES being in nurseries and gets very antsy and distracted. She said something about making me an authorized user on her card so I could go and spend as much time as I needed to pick stuff out so she doesn't have to go with me.

She has great credit, so I'm not worried about our scores getting intertwined...but she has gotten frustrated with this one credit card company and will likely close her account if they do anything else that irritates her (she's 81, doesn't take much to irritate her...). Would her closing the acct down the road affect MY credit?

I had my name on some of my mom's accounts, until I took over power of attorney (it is illeagle to have your name on the account and power of attorney at the same time, so I had to remove it). I never had a problem with it showing up on my credit - it was her account, so it was on her credit report (I know this is true, because I check her credit reports yearly).
