Has anyone done A Baby Story?

I may actually consider applying. I rarely watch b/c I'm "too" opinionated when it comes to these things, but isn't that a great reason to share one's natural birth?
My mw's have a good established relationship with ABS, so I'll be asking them to put me in contact with previous patients/stars when I see them, to see what their experiences were, but I figured I'd ask here in the meantime.

They (mws) have asked me to apply when I was pg with #3 and #4, but I didn't have the guts. I no longer have any modesty!
They may exclude me just b/c of my due date though (12/20). Who wants to be on call during the holidays? My mws themselves are already ribbing me, lol.

I think it would be cool to see more natural births on that show. Being that I am beyond the whole baby stage I don't watch the show very often but I think having this side shown more would be nothing but good.

I would do it if it was offered. That show seriously needs some more balanced stories on it. Out of all the episodes I have watched (and I watched a lot while preg) I only saw one natural birth. Other than that it was induction after induction after c-section after c-section.

And I already discovered I have no modesty during birth anyways LOL. I was stark naked the entire time I was in labor at the hospy, 31 hrs. They could just fuzz it out. I wouldnt care.

A huge 'yeah that' to Xavismom!! If I were ever to get pregnant again, I definetly think I'd apply... doubt I'd get on, but hey, ya never know, yk??

I'd love to see actual natural births on ABS.

Part of the problem is natural birthers often want privacy or a very specific environment during birth... I guess that's the kind of thing you can find out about ahead of time, if it'd just be one or two quiet folks with a camera or what. I think it would of course be great to get more exposure for the different birth options out there!

Personally I'd be leery of appearing on TV for any reason, particularly representing a topic I care deeply about. They can edit footage into anything to fit their agenda. If they wanted they could show you saying before the birth "I want it to be natural and peaceful" and then cut to you vocalising during transition, to "prove" that you lost it and were screaming for the epi. Or they could portray you as vague and loopy by showcasing your less articulate moments or even moments between takes, or when you think the camera's off. Or... anything, really. They could just annoy the heck out of you by cutting out chunks of your well-researched arguments and discussions in favour of a simplified, out-of-context soundbite, and that would be annoying enough. And don't think they won't.

Plus, I'd find it distracting during the birth to have camera crews etc around. I'd be worried about "representing" homebirth or natural birth or whatever, when I wanted to be in labour-land doing my thing. But then, I'm painfully camera shy at the best of times... plus, I have pics to prove I was GREEN after DD was born. So there may be a vanity issue there.

The vanity issue has always been one of my biggest concerns, lol! It's definitely one of the reasons I didn't give the show any consideration when I was pg with 3 and 4. Also, 3 was my first natural labor, and I had no idea how that would go. 4 was supposed to be 100% natural, but issues made it a bit more complex (no pain meds though!). Previously, I've done induced/epidural and induced/stadol. I feel as though I've done everything but a c-section! (Though I did have a laparotomy for a ruptured ectopic, so I have had a rough abdominal surgery recovery!)

My mws have done 15 episodes and I'm having a hard time finding most of them, so I'm hoping they and the parents might be able to catch me up. Of course, if the due date thing rules me out, I guess it's all a mute point!

Serious stuff to consider if it's not though!
