I think I have finally decided on doing a prefold with wrap style covers. I will probably get some all in ones or some pockets too for outings or traveling. So how far in advance to you start getting your diaper stash together? I am only 25 weeks so I am assuming I have plenty of time right?

Yeah, you should have plenty of time but don't procrastinate until the last minute. I planed on getting diapers at 36 weeks with DD, well she had different plans and was born right at 36 weeks. I had to use disposables for 2 days. She had a horrible reaction to them and I ended up using the 3 diapers that I had made at home until I got what I needed a few days later... talk about a pain and a lot of washing, I wish I knew about using receiving blankets as flats! This time I will be ready (everything washed) at 35 weeks.

In addition to having time to watch for sales, also keep in mind that you'll need some time to prep the prefolds (they'll need to be washed at least a few times before you use them...even more if you're going with unbleached). I felt like I was doing a TON of laundry during my third trimester, as I bought prefolds in a couple of different batches, and I had lots of hand-me-down clothes and new clothes to wash (plus crib sheets & other random fabric items).
