I've lost 40 lbs in the past 4 months. While that is great for my health, it is not so great for my pocket book. When I am heavier, I don't really care what I wear. When I start feeling better and feeling like I look better, all of the vanity comes back. I really have already purchased enough clothes in my new size, but that isn't stopping me from wanting more and more. There are so many cute things to wear out there.

Well, I had 70 lbs to lose when I started, so the weight came off really rapidly the first two months. I lost 25.5 lbs in those first two months alone. It is slowing down now (I am only averaging 7.25 lbs lost per month now). I am expecting the last 30 to take 5 months or so to lose. Not really on any special diet. Just watching my calories and exercising. Congrats on your weight loss!!!

*Sigh* Why do I even go over to the kids clothes section? They know what they're doing by putting it right next to the toy section in our store!

Key:
no spend/ budgeted spending
unnecessary/ unbudgeted spending
hung laundry to dry

Goals for May
no spend days 6/20
eating out 2/2
hung laundry to dry 2/10

1. Way to start off the month $7 at Starbucks after DS1's soccer game. Also spent $$$ on Keens for DH and I at Zappos.
2. $$ spent at Target for a new vacuum (ours broke over the weekend) and a new small coffee maker (I broke the pot on ours over a week ago.) While these were replacements, we hadn't budgeted for them. I did use a GC to pay for some of it, though, so it wasn't a total bust. Also spent $$ at IHOP for lunch.
3.
4. $56 for fabric to make the kids bathing suits
5. spent most of the day at the park w/ the kids for a playdate with good friends. Planned well for a picnic, brought extras of everything.
6. $$ grocery shopping
7. $$ at McDonalds for dinner. Really wasn't needed, I was too lazy to cook anything
8. $$ grocery shopping.
9. $83 at JoAnn Fabrics (went in for swimsuit elastic, walked out w/ yards of fabric )
10.
11. $52 fabric. DD needs clothes and I don't like anything that's out there, so I'm making them.

Last month's un-budgetted spending: $366

Determined to rock the month of May!

1:
2:
3:*
4:
5:
6:
7: ($5.80 on randomness at the dollar store...)
8: ($28 over on mothers day, $13 ordered pizza)
9:
10:*
11:*
12: ($20 in the tank, $5 on milk)
.................................................. ......
un-budgetted spending $71.80/150
moving-fund savings xxx/700
.................................................. ......

....I was planning on putting in a $50 book order (it would be $200 if I had my way)....seeing that we're already $72 over is having me second-guess that choice....we really don't NEED it....maybe I can cut it down to just $25 if I get only books for DS and none for me at school...

*= spent $1-3 of budget left-overs ($3.65)

= $191 on fabric (...not to mention the hours that you'll put into the finished pieces)

I hope you don't take offence to this. If this is something you love, than good on ya and please ignore my post, but if you're hoping to save $$ by making things you may want to re-evaluate your strategy.

I am shopping to relieve stress again! I need to stop doing that. My DH is looking for a new job and I am distracting myself from all of that by buying crap. I need a healthier (and more frugal) outlet.
