Hi, I'm Kara

Hopping in for another month because we're trying to become debt free and this thread keeps me inspired to keep OUT of my wallet

I've been getting a little overwhelmed thinking about the "big picture" so I'm just going to take it week by week during the month of May.

Here's to an awesome month everyone!

I'm Vicki, mom of 4 girls, I did this challenge last month and have done it in prior months also.
My goals--Short term goals right now, get $500 in savings by the end of the month. Pay cash for 1 vacation this month.

How I plan to do this....
Not eating out!! Once or twice a month for DH and I to have a date night
Buying necessities and really thinking about purchases outside of necessities (will wait 24 hours for anything over $10).
Having at least 2 no-drive days a week.
Stay out out of the stores!
I will also count gas or groceries as no spend, as long as it is budgeted for, and not junk.
Get on MDC often, that really seems to help fuel my frugalness.

My key:
No Spend
No Driving
Budgeted Spending/Necessities/Thought Over Purchase
Unnecessary Spending
: Exercise Day

1- --$124 Groceries

1. Way to start off the month $7 at Starbucks after DS1's soccer game. Also spent $$$ on Keens for DH and I at Zappos.
2. $$ spent at Target for a new vacuum (ours broke over the weekend) and a new small coffee maker (I broke the pot on ours over a week ago.) While these were replacements, we hadn't budgeted for them. I did use a GC to pay for some of it, though, so it wasn't a total bust. Also spent $$ at IHOP for lunch.

Thanks. In my defense, the only new shoes I have bought for myself since pg w/ DD1 (who is 4.5yo now) was 6mo ago when I bought a pr of inexpensive sneakers from WM. I'm hoping these sandals will last me YEARS. They were REALLY comfy in the store and I can't wait til they get here tomorrow
