VUR help!

I know there are at least two of you on here dealing with VUR...I have a friend whose 8 month old was just diagnosed with at least Grade IV (VCUG showed it refluxing all the way to the kidneys, and the kidneys are enlarged). She doesn't see a urologist until June, in the meantime she's on a high dose daily antibiotic.

One of you gals had a blog about it?? I want to send her the link, but I can't remember which one of you it is (Lizzie's mommy maybe??)

Thanks!!!

VUR here but not the blogger. Id love to read that blog though!

Dd2 is grade 5 and is on abx too, at least for 3 years!

kidneyreflux.info is a site I have about kidney reflux and Lizzie's story. I don't really keep up with the blog very well, but the site has lots of reflux information/articles and tons of links. Hope it's helpful.

Are they keeping her lo on high dose abx until June? She should normally be on high dose for 10 days and then go down to a prophylactic daily dose (around 1/2 dose I think) after that. There is also a good group on facebook that's pretty active.

(am I allowed to put that link up? if not I'll take it down)

eta - you might want to warn her that our experience with VUR has been a little more difficult than most

I'm not sure why you are getting that error? You might try this link. It isn't to the blog, but just Lizzie's story. Let me know if you can't get this one to work.

Hope your dd is doing well with the abx, and not having any breakthrough infections. VUR is sometimes a roller coaster, but most kids do really well on the abx.
