How many times a week do you work out?

By work out, I mean any type of exercise. Just curious to know what the average is. Thanks!

Any type of exercise? Every day. I take one day off a week from my usual routine, but I still take a walk on that day, just shorter and less quick.

6-7 days. Typically, 3 days of running, 2 days of high cardio plyometric-type stuff and 2 days of weight lifting. Sometimes I'll only run two days and do weight lifting 3 days a week.

I aim for four days, but some weeks its like 2-3 and others its six. I just try and do the most i can, when i can and figure it all balances out in the end.

6-7 days of pretty intense workout. One of those days will be a long day (either run, bike or swim) of 2+ hours.

I aim for 6 days but at times it is less due to stuff that comes up.

6 days a week

I walk almost everyday. I do yoga a few days a week. This week I'm trying to add situps. Exercise wears me out!

4 days a week, I aim for 4 1/2 to 5 hours a week this is at the gym and designated workout time. It doesn't include anything extra: like walking at parks or to buy a newspaper or going to the zoo etc.

most days...i do 90 min of yoga most days and in the nice weather i run a few days a week, too. that is more for fun/to get ready for a 5K or something, but the yoga i prefer is really quite capable of meeting all my needs, cardio, stretching and way more effective than weight lifting, though I enjoy that sometimes, too. I also do aerial fabrics once or twice a week. so about 1-2 a day with an occasional day off?

I go to the gym 5 days a week. I do cardio 3 days and do a weight lifting class 2 days. So far Ive gotten great results with this amount.

Daily. I walk with DD and the dog (aim for twice a day, barring rain or some other reason we can't go) and I try to make that more exercise for me than leisure. I also do circuit training/aerobics 5-6 times per week.

Thanks for the responses, I am new to working out and was just wondering what others' routines are.
Foxinthesnow- I am pretty much doing what you are and it is working well for me, too, though I am interested in incorporating some yoga or pilates as well but don't seem to have the time at the gym to do so. Maybe I'll try an at home DVD.

Im glad it's working for you. When you are new to working out (or even if you've been at it for a while) it's important not to push yourself too much. It's easy to burn out if you go overboard. Especially when it comes to weights. In the case of lifting weights, more frequent doesn't equal more results. You have to give your muscles a chance to rest and rebuild.

In between 4-6 days a week. I go to the gym also (except when I run for cardio, which is at least once a week), I do 3 days with cardio and usually a targeted area (abs/glutes/etc.) and then 2 days with heavy lifting, and then if I do the 6th day it is usually a hard all over body circuit that mixes cardio and weights.

Foxinthesnow- I have always been fairly active, I guess I should say I'm new to going to a gym and weights. I take the weight class on Mondays and Wednesdays, so I think I'm ok on resting in between sessions. Or am I? Is 48 hours enough?

My trainer says that your first month you should only do the weights class twice a week and after that 3 days a week is good. So sounds like you are doing good.

I purposefully (is that a word LOL?) work out 3 days a week. The other days I'm just generally busy and active running up and down my stairs a million times, scrubbing floors, toilets, etc

Sometimes I do a quick 20 minute circuit with kettlebells, pullups, pushups, jump squats, etc

I am doing 5 days a week now to lose the babyweight I gained from dd. I do only 1 hour a day, and one of the days is only 45 minutes. I really, really dislike carrying extra weight I just don't feel like myself and it depresses me. Once I get the babyweight off, I will drop down to 3 days a week, excluding walks with the kids for fun.

6-7 days a week. I am in triathlon season right now so I also do a lot of "bricks" or two a days of running, biking (or spin), and swimming. I also squeeze in a hot yoga class or two and some strength training. I train with two great friends and we have a blast so it also doubles as my social time which is probably why we do so much (and don't take rest days as often as we should)!
