May I join you? My baby is 12 weeks old and we are starting to have sex on a regular basis (does it EVER stop hurting a little at the beginning!?) so I figured I should hold myself accountable as I heard that some women O before they become pregnant. I do NOT want a baby right now. My husband is deploying this year and I want to breastfeed my little girl for at least one year, hopefully two years. I am EBFing her, no bottles of EBM or solids yet, but she does use a pacifier sometimes. Mostly in the car. She sleeps with us but sometimes sleeps 8 hours straight! I have not noticed any fertility signs. I really never thought I would be the type to O early though as it took me a full, friggin year to ovulate after stopping the birth control pill! My mom has perfectly spaced kids (imo) from breastfeeding and she actually nursed me until my baby brothers milk came in. We are all about 2.5 years apart. Anyways. That is my story. I am not planning on charting until I notice my FF signs but I would like to still join if it is possible and I belong. haha.

There are some very knowledgeable ladies here who are wonderfully kind and help. Even though I haven't specifically charted from PP on I do know my fertility symptoms start returning at around 6-9months even though my AF didn't return until 15 and 12 months.

Did you try doing a mass delete? Maybe it assumed data from now until then so deleting that one day didn't delete everything. You can do that from the edit button. You can also go to "override calculations" to make it anov or tell it to not calculate O before a certain date or to let you set it or whatever.

Alright, do you guys agree with FF about when I O'd?

If it's right, I should get AF today. Depending on what CF data I enter on CD 18-19, it gives me dotted cross-hairs on either CD 18 or 19, but it won't give me firm cross-hairs for some reason.

I think it could be either one. You won't get solid crosshairs because you have too many inaccurate or missing temps.

Hello ladies!

This is my first month of charting! I am very excited. Here is a little background as to how I came to charting:

My husband and I were TTC for #2 back in March. I got pregnant right away but miscarried at 5 weeks. We were told to wait a cycle before TTC again. I wouldn't say we TRIED but we didnt NOT try either. We did not get pregnant last month. A bunch of things have happened recently in our lives and I have come to the conclusion that I am going to wait another year to two years for TTC #2. So that being said, I realized that since i am really adamant about putting the brakes on then I need to be using some real birth control (instead of the kind of BC that is like "well we will just see what happens"). I looked into an IUD (copper or Mirena) and just know that neither are for me. I am way too sensitive to horomones and I hate condoms as they give me yeast infections. So then I realized that I can do this naturally and get to know my body better too by charting! I am reading "Garden of Fertility" and only to chapter 3 but I was able to take my first temp this morning. I hope to remember to temp and check cervical mucus every day! I wanted to join this group as I think it will help me remember to do these things every day but also to learn more about this stuff.

I am very excited and happy about my decision to do this!

So I overrode FF and put my O on CD 19. It looks pretty good to me, and I think it matches better with my symptoms (like CF dry up, nipple soreness, etc.)

Whew!!

AF finally arrived in earnest today! I've only been charting a few months and this month things were bizzare. First ovusoft said I O'd around CD 16, but I didnt have a thermal shift since my thermometer was broken. Then, I thought AF was starting, CD 36, but only spotted two days and had a thermal shift! Of course, we DTD unprotected the day before the shift since I thought we were really safe, far into my luteal phase.

I've been compulsively POAS since. We really dont want a baby right now. I'm just so happy not to be pregnant. We've learned our lesson, no more unprotected without withdrawl NO MATTER WHAT until we are more experienced with FAM.

The retreat over the weekend was nice, though it was very odd to be away from home and while it was only one overnight I think that was plenty long for me.

Today is CD 9 - not much going on at this point. Just waiting.

For me, I was in a lot of pain every time till about 3 months after giving birth, and wasn't really pain free till 6 months after. I didn't even have any tearing either. I also know women who dtd within a week with no pain though. It varies hugely for everyone I think.

Ok, can I get someone's opinion on my chart? I haven't had much internet access, so I haven't updated FF with my last cycle yet, but this one is updated. It's weird. I've ALWAYS O'ed on cd 15 or 16, today is cd15. I started getting the fertile cm for a few days, and then when it should've gone to super fertile... it just stopped. Can it happen that your body starts the process, stops, and starts over again? I've never gotten this. Yes, that can happen. I had it happen to me once last year. I normally O around CD 14-16 and my body geared up to O but I got a cold around CD 14 and so I didn't end up Oing until CD 21. Crazy! And it wasn't even a bad cold but it was enough that my body delayed ovulation.

Re: PP DTD DH and I have never been able to wait more than 10 days if that! The first time I went back to my MW for the 3 week check up I really lectured on it. Turns out my AF returned at 15 and 12 months PP each time so I think the danger is very slim for us to get pregnant instantly after baby.

For me it took nearly a year to not feel any pain during sex. I had an episiotomy though . I still feel some pain at the site. I had a teeny tiny tear with my second and was back to DTD very comfortably at about 8 weeks PP.

Yeah, you definitely need to temp more consistently. I assume you originally thought you Oed on cd16 because of the CF dry up? Your temps (the few you have) certainly don't show O then. Usually, if you have at least 4 days of CF dry up you can consider yourself safe every other day that you stay dry even without a thermal shift. Although, as is shown by your chart, that's taking a slightly extra risk since it appears you did eventually O without having fertile CF.

Nothing much going on with me. I'm expecting tomorrow or the next day. I've definitely been PMS irritable the last couple of days. Ugh. I hate feeling like this.

This is annoying me a bit and I'm trying to decide what, if anything, to do about it. Ovusoft is using the ROT to discount a temp in a way that doesn't make sense to me and has put my O a day later than I think it was. If I change the CF from EW to creamy (I only had one tiny bit of ew first thing in the morning that day and then it dried up), it moves my O back to the day I like. Should I change it or leave it?

At the risk of sounding really silly, ovusoft confuses me. But it's saying day 33 for ovulation? That's what the green line all the way down means? In that case, I really don't understand why it's discarding that temp either... I'm assuming if there were something significant about it, you would have told us, so it looks like it just decided to randomly ignore it.

As for changing the CF, since it does look like you o'ed regardless of day, and you did have dryup, I would personally feel comfortable altering the CF section and just making a note of the situation in the 'notes' section.

It's amazing how hard it is to read other software once you've gotten used to something!

For curiousity, what does FF say?
