Not the sign language I was working on

Had been trying to sign "potty" to DS months ago since the time when he was about 6 months or so, but because he always just completely ignored me, I kind of gave up on it. Now he has started signing himself on occasion by reaching down to his crotch. What should I do in this case? What would you do?

that is was dd does and I happily exclaim "you need to potty, let's go". Then I say pee pee or poo poo while she is going and use the asl sign. I am so thrilled she is doing something. She is 16 months and has been taking herself for about 1 month but has had no signs of needing me to take her and now when she can't take herself she pats her crotch. I think it is awesom!!!
