Talk to me about B12

So I am thinking of supplementing with oral methyl B12. I've had severe fatigue & other various issues for the past 4 years and I've kind of given up on doctors at this point.

My last blood test showed my B12 at 301. From what I've read, although 200 is the cutoff in the US, anything below 400-500 could cause symptoms like the ones I've been experiencing. So I figure, it's worth a shot...

So I guess I want to know if there are any potential dangers/side effects I should know about before trying this... and any other info/experience anyone is willing to share. I am quite desperate at this point

I don't really know much about it, but it's my understanding that the B vitamins work in tandem. So if you are going to be supping B12 you might also want to supp folate (methylfolate) or perhaps a B multi-vitamin. Thorne makes ones with methylfolate.

Blood test "normal" guidelines do not tell the whole story. By the time your blood tests show deficiency you are in bad shape: pernicious anemia.

Have you had your ferritin levels checked?

Adrenal fatigue? That is my next area of research.

I swear by B12 supps myself.

CoQ10 might be another supp to look into for you.

My ferritin levels were on the low end of normal... I think 25 or 30???

I went for another round of bloodwork but haven't gotten the results back yet. I do suspect some sort of adrenal issue, just based on symptoms. I will have to look into coq10 more...
