Welcome to the MAY Thread Mamas!

This is a spinoff to the Bitter Sushi Ladies Thread over on TTC. Some of us have very happily made it to the "other side" and we want to be able to keep track of each other.

Our fellow BSL's that are still on their TTC journey like to check up on us from time to time too - which we really appreciate - since they continue to be in the midst of a sometimes brutal and just "NOT FAIR" TTC journey...

LZP: congrats Auntie! how much did they weigh? I hope you're doing OK and getting through that awful feeling phase. I have those moments too. We probably all do.

Lis: do you still need baby turning vibes or has Caleb made any position changes?

Pinoikoi: are your antibiotics done now?

Qbear'smama: how's pinchy?

Good luck to all of you ladies who are getting really close to your due date!!! Can't wait to read the great news!

I had my second ultrasound today at 8w6d. We saw twin A and B moving around a lot today... we also saw arms and legs today and brain ventricles. They have grown so much over the last 2 weeks... wow! Both heatbeats are 170 now. We have graduated now from our RE and just waiting to get into the OB/GYN. This is real now!

Sorry, one of these days I won't be so negative. I swear!

Lyndzies I can't wait to hear your news today.

DS is all excited. We go to school on Fridays. It's not until 10 though and he has been ready to go since 8. He loves it. I just started leaving him as of last week. :cry So anyway, now I can just schedule all my accupuncture, Midwife, and sonogram stuff for Fridays. I had to take him with me to renew my driver's licence yesterday. Sighhhhhhhh. Let's just say a mama with her kid laying on the nassssssssstttttyy floor (when I asked him twice already not to) while her picture is being taken does not make for a good picture. (That I now have to keep for 10 years until it expires)

And as for the twins- they were teeny tiny. well, Baby A (the boy) was 5lb7 oz. actually bigger than his 3yo big sister when she was born at 4lb10oz at 35 weeks. baby B, (the girl) was 3lb 1 oz. BUT, they are both breathing on their own, totally good growth and weight gain, and, BOTH CAN NURSE!!!! I cried for joy when my sister told me that. actually, i'm welling up now. Those little babes have to spend all of their time in the special care nursery, and the nurses only "let" them out of their special warming beds to eat. so, i'm just SO delighted that they can bond with their mommy by nursing. Little Girl uses a lot of energy nursing (too much for her size), so she gets a boob session, then finishes with a feeding tube push, but still... she CAN eat on her own. and I am just so proud of my sister- the docs and nurses kept saying, "we're going to have to supplement with formula." like it was not an option, and she stood firm, and INSISTED that they get only pumped or expressed BM if they're not nursing. finally, they got it that she would not budge on that point. those little babies are lucky to have a mommy who will fight for them like that.

OK, i'm about to cry- so on to other things. It's supposed to be hot this weekend. a good taste of what it will be like this summer when i'm huge.
belly's really here and getting bigger every day it seems! movements are pretty consistent, but there are still times that she doesnt move a lot, and i get nervous of course. but then i just poke around, and she wakes up. I WON'T be doing that when she's out in the world, by then I'll need sleep.

well, that was just stream of consciousness there... sorry.

Lyndzies- can't WAIT to hear your update!!!!!!!!!

YYYM - I hope you're packing and not reading here. good luck with the move, and congratulations!!

and finally, Tear- . I'm thinking of you. And I'm mad and sad with you. I really dont know how many times one can go through this cycle of optimism, excitement, true hope, and disappointment. my heart is breaking with you. (in response to your post on the BSL Proper)... you are so strong. so so strong.

LZP - I've been poking at mine, too... it's hard not to! I'm such a mean mama. Lol.

Enigo - so cute about DS! And, don't worry. I STILL get the urge to POAS every so often. Lol.

AFM.................. I WAS RIGHT! It's a girl! We are over the moon, and so very excited to meet her this fall.

Jill - Tomorrow IS the 1st! If you can, let us know how you are doing!!!!! So exciting....

Pinoikoi - We should get those new babies - at least three of them!

Lyndzies - for Baby Girl Sophie. I love my "baby girl". Brushing her long wavy-ish hair isn't my favorite thing, and it was much more fun when she didn't have an opinion about what she "wore" and I could just dress her in whatever I want... but STILL... she is the BEST.

LZP - I'll take you up on the June offer. I'd be neglectful of it come the end of June, so I figure I'll just surrender my threadmistress privilege before that. Lets hope with all the hope we can muster that between June and August you get to add TEAR to our list of graduates!!!! (We love you Lady!)

Glad to hear your little niece and nephew are doing good and able to BF. They must look so very, very tiny!

Kelly - Yeah for two healthy babies moving and grooving on your u/s! We are all so happy for you!

As far as I can tell, Caleb still prefers to be transverse - curled up in a little tight ball. My OB appt. is Monday... so I will ask her what she thinks. Hoping he figures out how to turn that quarter-turn to head down, and doesn't get too comfy sideways.

enigo - I hope the accupuncture helps. Thinking of you and wishing you confidence and trust in your body (I'm sure that's easy for me to say, and hard for you to do). That's cute about DS and school. Its wonderful that he loves it - and great that you get some time free on Fridays!

Mae - Glad all is resolved with XH. I know how icky all of that can be when its up in the air. I hope your u/s is scheduled quickly!

AFM - Not much to say. Totally off topic, but I ran a blue crayon through the dryer on Wednesday afternoon. Now that was lovely. Talk about a fun time squeezing my 7 month PG belly/body into awkward shapes to scrub clean the dryer. I WILL remember to check pockets better from now on!!!!

Have a good weekend ALL!!!

Lis, I could be threadmistress for June if no one else wants it. Things should be settled around here for me that month (I hope)
quoting myself (how very self centered ) only talking about myself in a post.....
bc i stupidly posted AFTER I read that you were starting May....

LYNDZIES!!! Congrats on baby Sophie! I love that name... you are so cute, I love that picture you linked to in your last post!

LZP- thanks for sharing about your niece and nephew. I'm so pleased that they are able to BF on their own. I have to admit while I'm thrilled about twins I am nervous about them being small.

Lis: Thanks for the new thread... I can't believe it's May! A crayon is the dryer does not sound like fun

Mae: I can't believe you're flipping to girl thoughts... I thought you were so convinced it was a boy. I hope your ultrasound gets scheduled soon!

Jill: I hope all is well! Good luck!!

I can't stop looking at my ultrasound photos! I can't believe I'm 9 weeks now...

My RE's office called to say that my TSH level was a bit low (I think it's the opposite and would be hyperthyroid). He said it wasn't anything to worry about and was common in first trimester with increasing pregnancy hormones. They need to send me for another blood test... this time T4, which is more specific to isolate the thyroid hormones. I hope I can trust that everything is OK.

I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!
Congrats, Lyndzies! I'm still waiting to find out what sex this kid is--I guess I should know within the next month!

Yay for a great ultrasound experience, Kelly! I'm glad your twins are growing well! I hope everything works out fine with your TSH levels.

I had another bout of super-excruciating round ligament pain while walking about 5 blocks earlier this afternoon, which really makes me wonder whether I'm going to be able to work for the next two weeks before I had planned to begin my maternity leave. It was better once I got home and laid down, but it was awful at the time.

My shower is tomorrow and my mother-in-law is driving my (amazingly patient) friend who's hosting absolutely bonkers. I really wish she would have just chilled out and agreed to be a guest like we asked her to. I'm scared that she's going to show up with unsolicited food items (beyond the ones that we know about), random decorations, and have a panic attack at the thought of getting up the stairs. I'll keep you posted.

37 weeks tomorrow!

I know right?!

I mean I STILL have plenty of signs that point to boy (dreams very similar to those with DS... so much similar to with DS) but not knowing seems to be frustrating me to that point.

I am really hoping we can schedule it for either Monday or Wednesday.
Funny,
I had thought girl when I first found out I was pregnant (A whole 2 weeks ago) but lately I think boy. I suppose I have a 50% chance of being right.

Congrats Lyndzies!!!

Well it seems to be quite common for boob soreness to go away a bit by 6 wks. (If you feel differently just shhhh! I'm only holding it together by a thread over here) Don't you think I haven't been Googling like a fiend!
I also happened to read on some of the paperwork that the accupunturist gave me that often the boob thing is more pronounced in first pregnancies. Since this is my fouth maybe they know what they are doing by now. If only I could feel nauseous now!

starkyld When I was a couple weeks from having DS I decided to go for a walk. It was over a hundred degrees. I ended up, for the first time in my life, showing weakness and making DH go get the car. (Generally I will kill myself before I say "Uncle", I really need to work on that) Thank goodness he was with me, I would have had to go lie in someone's bushes until a car came by.

MP Yay for divorce!

Lemme do a few more personals in a couple minutes, I gotta eat something. I haven't been hungry, I think I've been feeling a bit depressed and worried. I forget to eat.

Hey by the way I'm Due Dec22, the little blurb on the first page says Dec 25. My fault probably mentioning I was due around Christmas.
LZP, love the story about the twins, awesome that their mommy refused formula and that they're nursing!!

Kelly, great news about the ultrasound, hope everything goes well with the tests, I am sure it's all good, they're just being cautious.

Lyndzies, congrats on your girl! We didn't find out what DD was until she was born and whenever you hear it, "It's a girl!" are the sweetest words!

Enigo, I'm still with you, boob soreness coming and going, I keep *thinking* I'm nauseous but wondering if it is real (does that sound weird? Probably...) and sometimes I am bloated and other times I look thinner than before I got pregnant...sigh again.

Mae, I am excited to hear if it's little Alexander or Mae in there. We have decided to find out this time, but that is waaaaaaaay off yet. So eager to know!

starkyld, sucks about the RLP, but you're almost there!! Ah mothers-in-law, so fun! Good thing your friend is patient, hope you have lots of fun, get lots of great things and are not greeted by any unpleasant MIL surprises!

Lisko, good luck Monday, hope Caleb gets the idea and moves downward (I heard you can coax him down with music (yes, a speaker at your crotch ) or put frozen veggies on his head so he'll move away from them, but that sounds kinda mean, poor guy...)

AFM, pinchy seems fine, some days I look more bloated, other days, it looks like nothing is happening down there...I think it has to do with my uterus being retroverted, Mae I remember you saying something about retroverted uteruses showing later, I mean I know it is early days yet (7 weeks last Thursday) I am super-bone-tired, poor DH doesn't see much of me vertical and alert, I had a nap today so I am hoping we can spend a little time this evening before I go unconscious. DD had ballet pictures today, GOD 4 year olds look adorable in tutus!! I will have to post a pic when we get them. Also, I have a midwife appointment June 3rd which seems like a year away at this point. But I googled her (yes, I am planning on stalking her ) and she sounds very cool, I am SO excited!!!!

Kelly - I hope all turns out okay with the thyroid blood work.

starkyld - Hopefully your shower was fun despite an overhelpful MIL! Sorry about the ligament pain... I get that only when rolling over in bed. Its like I cannot, for anything, figure out a comfy way to roll over. I have been getting more Braxton-Hicks in the evening if I'm still up and around. But at 32 weeks they are welcome for getting that uterus practicing!

enigo - Hoping that all is perfect on Friday! I'll update your first page blurb.

Qbear'smama - Appointment is later today, I'm curious to hear what my OB says about his position and if he's still transverse, what she has to say about THAT! Oh... and for you... TIRED is a good symptom!

Mae - I hope the u/s gets scheduled QUICK!

AFM - OB appt later this afternoon. The realization its MAY has hit me. I really need to get some stuff done! My shower is this Saturday, once that passes we'll have a better idea of what we still need to buy and get ready for Caleb.

We had a really busy weekend and I'm just exhausted today. There are like 4 loads of laundry to be done and my bathrooms are GROSS... but I'm having trouble getting motivated.

Hope everyone has a GREAT week!

Your week and mine sound SO much alike! I can't BELIEVE it is May! My shower is ALSO on Saturday! My bff is throwing it for me, and I think it will be so nice.. I absolutely demanded no games, so she is doing door prizes.. I think some games are just humiliating.. my nephew had me crawling on the floor blindfolded to scoop up cotton balls with a spoon.. um, memorable.

Dp and I have been spring cleaning the house.. I purged a lot of stuff.. cleaned out both boys' closets, cleaned and organized the deck (including new deck furniture- well, new to me, but the whole set- 7 pieces! I picked up for a whopping $30) I will see if I can attach my pic... DP scrubbed my thoroughly gross bathrooms.. I took the couch down and cleaned all the fabric on it.. I decluttered the landing, repotted all my rather sad and neglected plants .. My sister and her kids are coming up this weekend (I don't think I have seen her in about 15 years!) so I needed to get the house guest ready.. still isn't all the way done, but it is getting there.. I need to tackle a couple of things in the kitchen (did I mention I completely reorganized my cabinets?), the family room, and my bedroom and then I will be ready. I did so much laundry.. Dp and I folded 4 baskets worth yesterday.

And Kelly- I missed somewhere about your thyroid work.. let me know what that is like.. when I was in the ER, the doctor looked and felt around my throat and casually asked me if I had had my thyroid checked before (um, no... ) he recommended I get it done when the baby is born.. is there a lot involved in that?

Games like that are a large part of why my families baby shower games consist of word games (anagrams, crosswords, word searches) memory games and the usual guess when baby will be born, weight/height and hair color/amount... which of course cannot be awarded a prize for until after the birth! lol... With DD we gave out a 20 dollar pizza hut gift certificate to the closest guess. Funniest part was... my mom was closest. And she was the one who bought the certificate!

Ill be back in about 2 hours with news on when my ultrasound is!
what a fun week for some of us!!! Have fun at your showers Lisko and Pinoikoi!

Lisko- have a great appt today! I was not prodctive this weekend either, and it usually puts me in a worse mood on Monday morning when I know I didnt accomplish my goals... you have time, and maybe you can enlist DH to do the bathrooms this time (even if they're not up to the Lisko standards, at least they will be sort of done!)

Pinoikoi- I am jealous of your productivity this weekend! I took maybe 3 more things out of the closet that will be baby's closet- and just put them in other random places in the house. so, not exactly productive at all!! please post new pics of your furniture- what a great find!!

QBearsmama- so sorry that june seems like an eternity away... it sounds so cliche-but I do remember when those weeks just CRAWLED by in the beginning! (you might with your pg with DD?) now I am shocked that I have another appt next Monday already- life is just starting to get back to "normal' i think, and then in 3mos it will be thrown into complete chaos! (in a good way of course) can't wait to see those tutu pics of your DD! how adorable she must have been- did you cry? I would have.

enigo- my boob soreness came and went- and I too freaked out each time I wasnt in pain! dont worry, it will come back, and gently brushing against your DH or something will send you screaming! How is your MW quest going? did you find a good one yet?
also- I think you are in So. Fla- right? My DH has been going there a lot for business lately- well to South Beach area, staying at some insane hotels. do you live near there? he said it's like a movie set all the time... crazy beautiful people, full makeup to get the paper in the morning, money flowing like it's water, and lamborghinis and ferraris lined up in front of hotels. I couldnt live like that. you dont seem like that either...! is it really like that everywhere in that area, or just in the touristy parts? end OT.

starkyId- how did your shower go?! get nice things? was MIL well behaved??

Kelly- good luck with the testing, sounds like they're taking good care of you, and I wouldnt worry since they said it's pretty normal in pg (especially with twins, I bet- it is taxing on the body!)

mae- i hope you get to at least schedule your US soon--- waiting was HARD even though I knew exactly when it was!

AFM- I spilled gasoline on my jeans while pumping it this AM. it was pouring rain and the gas nozzle thing fell out of the holder after I put it back... some must have splashed on my pant leg, and now all I can smell is gas. EWW. i hope no one else can smell it if only i could go home. Also, we have a leak in our roof. have for a few weeks, but with the rain this AM and last night, it's BAD. tThank G-d my BIL is a roofer and will come look at it- only problem, he's the daddy of the twins. I feel terrible asking him, but sis said it was fine, and I know she'd be honest if it werent!

in PG related news- I've popped for certain now. it's unmistakable baby bump. and my eating is getting out of control. all those weeks of "I havent gained any weight" crapola has caught up with me, and the home made brownies are not helping. I think I gained 6 lbs in the last 2 weeks. I cannot keep up this pace, but i am ALWAYS HUNGRY. i get sad when I realize my meal is almost finished!!

also, i have this pain at night right at the pubic bone when i've been laying down for a while. like it hurts to open my legs at all. i even use a pillow btw knees, and that doesnt seem to help- hurts so much when i roll over! not a complaint- just a statement- I feel like I've been pretty lucky so far!!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Jill and Jelinifer- we havent heard from you in a while- I wonder if you're babymooning now?!?!?!?
Lyndzies, congratulations on the baby GIRL!

Hooray for May!

No baby here yet -- had some more serious ctx last night for a couple of hours, then I fell asleep again and it was 8:30am. So I'll be spending the day going out to lunch, playing Mah Jongg with my sister, mother, and friend, and going to piano lessons with DS. Oh, and watching people pick through our trash pile on the boulevard (it's clean-up week here ).

See I just had to come in and check one more time
I was going to take some time off MDC since I am just killing myself every frickin' time I have to read about someone complaining about ms at 30 seconds pregnant.

I got the midwife I used with my first mc preganncy. She was awesome. I really liked her. The only problem I had with her was that she is super mellow and I am...er... not. It often made me feel slightly uncomfortable because I felt like a spaz around her.
Anyway, I have crossed the line into being irrational and prone to crying spells since I am convinced I have lost another one. (See? I'm trying not to drag you guys down, I suppose I should post this stuff on the pregnancy after loss forums). I did start using natural progesterone cream and a some herbs that the accupunturist gave me.

I also keep trying to tell myself I didn't know I was pregnant with DS until I was 8 wks, but it doesn't help.
It's also my birthday today. Again! Gahhhhh!

LZP, we live in Ft Lauderdale about 15 miles or so from South Beach, but it's a whole different country here. I don't go down there at all. Not my thang. I used to rollerblade down there when I was cool, but I can't imagine that now. (Rollerblade there and back annd skate while I was there, How in the hell did I manage?)

I know I always say this, but I'm going to try to do some personals later when it isn't all about me. It seems like it always is. but know that I read every post and do care. It just may be all about me until Friday's news.

First... I'm pretty sure the majority of this thread (if not the entire thing) could be considered pregnant after loss so DON'T feel bad about posting things like that here! We all understand how it is! Really Im terrified even still, even feeling kicks, that Im going to go into that U/S and be told the hardest news, that baby no longer has a heartbeat (I can handle any disability or problem really. I cant handle the loss.)

Second... irrational and prone to crying could very much be your pregnancy symptom!

Yes, I had nausea at 5dpo but it was comparable to overeating. And it came and went... and then went for what seemed like good around 7 weeks. It was not reassuringly horrible puking my guts out until around 8-9 weeks. Then it lasted, and lasted, and lasted, and lasted. I still have to be careful how I get out of bed and Ill be 21 weeks tomorrow!

Its actually very very normal for women not to get it until between 8-10 weeks. Yes you can get it before then, but for most women its around 8-10 weeks.

(or you can be super lucky and not get it at all. I know it doesnt help to reassure you baby is okay but it does make for a much less miserable first trimester)

You are at or nearly at 8 weeks yes?

My suggestion: when (not if, when!) that ultrasound tells you all is fine, start looking into a doppler. I got mine at 10 weeks, couldnt find the heartbeat til 12 weeks but then after that it is the one thing to calm me down when I get crazy over it all.

Thanks! I'm only 6wks 5 days. I know nausea may happen later, but I just feel like my boobs shouldn't have popped and I should at least be having aversions. Although I will admit to dry heaving for a second when I made my son's sardine sandwhich this morning to take to the park. To be fair I did take a huge whiff as a test. The fact that I had a few symptoms..boobs were huge, they popped, still a tiny bit sore and inflated, but not as they were. I was sooo tired. I'm not now. I know I thought that possibly the whimpering jags were pregnancy symptoms, but I am so upset this may be my last chance that I would probably be like this either way.

Friday when they put that damn ultrasound wand on me, I'm gonna pass out.
