when exactly does the third trimester begin?

i have heard anything from 26-29 weeks. What week is generally considered the start of the third?

Your subject line had me laughing. My informal answer would be, "you'll know you've arrived when the heartburn starts keeping you up at night."



I always thought it was 28 weeks...

My MW says its at 28 weeks.Just around the corner for me. Cannot believe it!!!

I just completed my 27th week, which means I'm in my 28th week, though I'm only 27 weeks pregnant, so I still don't know if I'm in the third trimester or not. I'll wait a week before I loudly declare it.

I am with the pp, for me its when rolling over in bed requires a crane and the shuffling of no less than six pillows and one husband that I uncover beneath those pillows.

This is the point that would qualify for me... once you are in the 28th week... having completed 27 weeks and thus 27 weeks pregnant... that would be the third tri for me.

well, technically, it would begin at 26 weeks, 4 days, and 16 hours.

But I think the heartburn and "do I really need to turn over/pick that hairbrush off the floor?" moments mark it pretty well. I think that I was around 28 weeks when Every Single Morning, my belly would knock my deodorant onto the floor, and my toothpaste into the sink.
