What is gong on with DD

I posted about this 2 1/2 weeks ago but didn't get many replies. I also posted in H&H but only got on reply so I'm posting again

DD has had loose stools/diarrhea(i'm not sure what the difference would be) for almost 3 weeks now. It's not normal for her at all. Her diet hasn't changed. I started her on digestive enzymes by enzymedica about the same time her stools became loose so I backed off but didn't seem to make a difference. She also had a fever for 24 hours about 5 days after the diarrhea started and now almost 3 weeks later her poops are still not formed. I'm still seeing a lot of undigested food in her diapers. We haven't completely eliminated any food groups yet. The gluten we eat is very minimal. Since being in a new state where raw milk is extremely hard to get the only dairy we have been eating is butter and raw cheese 2-3 times a week.

Did you take the enzyme out completely?
I suppose it could be die-off from something.
What else is in that enzyme that she hadn't had before, that could be causing a reaction?

Yes she has been completely off the enzymes, There doesn't seem to be anything "bad" in the enzymes.
Ingredients:
Protease
Amylase
Lipase
Cellulase
Maltase
Phytase/Pectinase
Xylanase
glucoamylase
lactase
Intervase
Alpha-Galactosidase
and 100% vegetarian capsule(cellulose,water)

I'm really have NO CLUE what it could be!!! I'm just not comfortable letting it go like it's nothing...ya know. She doesn't seem to be having any stomaches so that's good at least.

How long have you been off dairy?

Is she still nursing?

Which Enzymedica enzyme, and how much did you use (and for how long)?

Well we still eat raw cheese(2-3wk) and butter(daily). Other dairy she's been off for 4 weeks. She's no longer nursing. We did digest basic for about 1 week. She's been off the enzymes for almost 2 weeks. I went through what she eats in mind over and over today and I can't pinpoint what it could be. Maybe eggs? She's eats those almost daily.

Can one of you lovely mamms point me in the direction on info on enzymes causing die off or detox? Dd actually had a formed poop today but was very small so now she's constipated

If this goes on (or starts going off and on or constipation/loose stool fluctuations) I'd be wondering about parasitic or bacterial infections based on my experiences. A metametrix comprehensive stool test will (parasites, digestion, food reaction, bacterial, etc.) and I'd do it if this goes on.

Interesting sbgrace so is the stool test something I do independently or would her HCP typically do this? Do you know If It's covered by insurance?

My guess is that if she was running a fever at some point that it's not necessarily a food reaction, but more likely a virus or bacterial infection....those can sometimes hang around for quite a while (for example, rotavirus).

I thought on that as well but when I read on the rotavirus it said vomiting is usually right along with it. Would it be around for 3 weeks???

Not three weeks w/rotavirus. And I've never known it not to start with vomitting (Rotavirus also has a very distinctive and horrid odor). However, some infections (including some self clearing parasite infections) can leave you with lactose intolerance afterward.

No, the typical parasite stools tests the pediatrician would run only look for certain ones (and not the most common). To do Metametrix you want your doctor to order it (if he/she will) or call the company and ask for the name of a doctor in your area. Our insurance covered it out of netword but we had to pay up front and at times that has been an issue/we haven't always been able to do it. I've heard people say Genova has insurance agreements. They are good lab too at least in terms of their parasite test but for parasites you need two of their tests to be sure you didn't miss something the first time (Genova does culture, metametrix does DNA so doesn't have to catch the bug in that particular sample so I much prefer metametrix). If you end up needing a stool sample make sure you take parts from beginning, middle and end of stool. The very end is really important particularly for parasite tests.

Oh man I do I know what the end part is? I would imagine that would be hard since her Bm is just mush pretty much

Ya, so was my kid (he had a parasite fwiw). Is she potty trained (I am spacing on age, I should know that)? If you collect in a collection tray it's relatively easy even with mush because you pick what's on the very top as end and you can kind of watch. Ick...ick..I know. With potty based collections I did beginning, middle, end--as I said end most important for parasitic. Metametrix should find the stuff anyway since they do DNA. With Genova (or other labs) this collection point is going to be even more important since they culture. Diapers are harder. You do the best you can to guess and pick multiple parts from everywhere.
