Aquadoula or Birth Pool In A Box?

Hi,
I need to rent a tub ASAP. Just can not make up my mind between Aquadoula or BPIAB. Any suggestions? Having to keep the water warm just seems like an extra task. Anyone had experience with both?

I haven't used both, but I've used the BPIAB and loved it. I'll be buying one for my next birth.

a deciding factor for me in choosing my pool was its capacity. I had a fast labour on my first, and I didn't want to take any chances on the pool not being ready quickly. Even though the aquadoula has a heater, it can only keep water warm, not actually heat it up, so you have to be able to put enough hot water in there in the first place. With our hot tank, it would have taken 2 and half goes to fill it.
I guess it all depends on what your priorities are.

LOVE the BPIAB! I own one and have lent it to friends - so far, five babies have been born in it! For my birth in it, we filled it, then covered it with a quilt from our bed (a king size, but smaller may have worked). It kept it plenty warm, and later there was hot water in the hot water heater to top it off with. The big, thick sides are very insulating, and VERY comfy. Overall inflation was pretty quick, once we got to an air pump that plugged directly into the wall and actually worked! It had plenty of room (we have the full size one), such that I could both sit and stretch my legs straight out, and also in transition I was crawling around the pool on hands and knees, 'cause, um, that's what worked.

The handles were good when it came time to push, too - I didn't expect them to be, but they were great. Just make sure the seat is fully inflated. Because of our pump issues, mine wasn't, and that REALLY bugged me. This time, it will be!

I haven't used either. I used La Bassine. La Bassine is similar to BPIAB. The inflatable tubs actually keep the water warmer than the AD because they are better insulated on the sides and the AD has a lot more surface space to let heat out. The heater will not heat the water, only maintain the temperature of the water that you add.

The AD also will tap out most hot water heaters with the capacity. The BPIAB and La Bassine will be fine with most water heaters.

I loved BPIAB!! And this time we're using a La Bassine. Near identical. I love them because they are inflated and very easy to rest on. The aquadoula doesnt seem to be as comfy in that respect. That's my priority, so that's what I decided.

Yes, La Bassine was very comfy to lean on. I've heard the AD is not so comfy.
