Where do you sell your stuff?

We have stuff, lots of stuff, nice-new-in-the-box-stuff that was gifted to us and we never used. I am trying to sell it on diaperswappers.com but no luck (plus some of it is big, like a stroller, and shipping will be big. ) Our local baby consignment store just takes stuff for store credit and I really want to pay off debt! Where do you sell?

I would do craigslist.

I second Craigslist.

Craigslist, eBay for smaller items

I send out a list to family and friends within a certain geographical distance via email as my first course of action. I often sell to friends of friends this way.

Craigslist worked wonderfully for the item or two we listed there.

I detest eBay and would rather donate.

Could you return some of it to the store where it was purchased (without the receipt) for store credit/gift card? While you can't really pay down debt with that, if you returned stuff to WalMart, Target, Babies R Us, etc, you could use the gift card to buy necessities like groceries, kids clothes/shoes, etc, then use the cash budgeted to those areas towards debt.

Could you regift some of these items (like if one of your friends gave you an item as a baby gift, regift it to one of your dh's coworkers)? Then you wouldn't have to spend money on these types of gifts.

Craigslist, eBay, diaperswappers, other discussion boards (depending on the item).

If your items aren't selling, it's possible that they're priced too high. I know it's hard to let items go for cheap, but in general you shouldn't expect to get more than 50% of the original price, even for new in box items. There are a few specialty items that will sell for closer to the original price, but I wouldn't count on it.

I've had good lick with Craig's list for large items. But if you have a TON of stuff maybe a yard sale would be best. It's prime season for yardsales and I've always made a least a couple hundred.

Craigslist, eBay and a yard sale would be my ideas

Where in Maine are you? If you're anywhere near Central Maine, let me know. We've got a large Green Mothering group as well as lots of homeschooling groups - we trade/swap/buy stuff all the time...

I have a little shop in California.....

Ive found that even 'new' items are not selling well these days. I can find new items for 50% off retail on a regular basis so something on craigslist I would expect to pay less than 1/2 price for.
