Halliburton possibly responsible for Gulf oil spill

According to a 2007 study by three U.S. Minerals Management Service officials, cementing was a factor in 18 of 39 well blowouts in the Gulf during a 14-year period, making it the single largest factor, the Wall Street Journal reported. Equipment failure and pipe failure were the next leading factors.


The article says that Halliburton was on site of the rig and had completed cement casing of the line just 20 hours before the blow out. A lawsuit has already been filed against them and 3 others

It will be very interesting as to who ends up 'paying' for this particular environmental disaster.... Halliburton, BP... different heads of the same hydra...
