Roo still coughing.

I'm kinda freaking out. I can't find my tax stuff and today is the last day to file! (I live in one of the areas that got an automatic extension due to flooding)
I've looked in all the places where important papers should be and even in places where they shouldn't. Can't find it! argh!

Liza- Eek about your ds! Glad he's ok.
Liza- how scary! Glad ds was ok though.

I think we lucked out, as there was cloud cover, which helped us have a frost rather than a hard frost or actual freeze.

It's 40 degrees right now (with a 35 'feels like' temp).

That's just not right.
I wish I could stay inside today but I can't. Have to go to the post office at some point and I have to go to the grocery store.

The sun is out and there are clear blue skies. And no wind! Dh suggested I wash the car. Maybe.

Aeress- what a fun dream!

Wolfcat- Dharma is gorgeous Fast healing to you!

DoK- congrats on winning the contest, very cool

KTG- More job

SunshineJ- Busy, busy. I hope you and dh can work something good out schedule wise.

lisa-z- Yay for baby milestones and falls without injury.

Clay- Yay for electrical passing inspection. I hope your dh has an easy time of doing the drywall. Dh and I've done it before and it's not my favorite, lol.
Sorry 'bout the garden. Hopefully you have seeds leftover so you can replant.

We had an inspection for the pool's rebar yesterday, and passed, and I think electrical today.
I feel good today, and motivated to do stuff. I'm making enchiladas and vegetarian tamales for dinner tonight. And maybe a carrot cake too.

Kids are sick and the car's broke Of course, I have 2 meetings today and DD has a dentist appt. Bummer. DoK, mine are coughing too. No fever at this point, but DS has a sore throat too. Hope Roo feels better soon.

liza-s glad summer has found you. What an amazing place to live. Do you find most folks there are a little more connected to what's going on nature-wise? Glad your little is ok after that tumble.

Sunshine-Yay on a clean house my dream right now as we haven't been able to unpack everything yet. Sorry about the date conflicts. I am not officially out as a pagan to my family, so there have been sometimes where my holidays get overlooked. I have been known to sneak it in-covert style, "hey let's have a feast and a bonfire." Then sneak off to do my own thing. Even if it's just closing my eyes "to relax" and meditate right where people are hanging out.

Saphire- yummy dinner. Want company? Enchilada sauce was my favorite pg food. Glad the pool's coming along.

Well, I have to figure out the new plan of the day. My DD is so sweet even when she's sick Hope everyone has some nice parts to their day

Crap. Roo just developed a bad stomach ache. That's one of the warning signs of pneumonia with him. (or he could just be constipated.)
Calling doc.

oh my back hurts but i still have so much to do.

ever since i found out my friend is expecting a baby boy i have been having dreams about when i let them take away my boy to be circed. i wake up nauseas and crying. i have talked to her but i dont know what else to do. why cant i get over this and let it go. my son is almost 15. i have never had a dream like that and i feel so sad all the time and cant quit thinking about that one moment where i could have said no.... the guilt is intense. why now? i know iregret it and i thought that i worked through all that when i found out what i had done. there is something stronger going on here and i am not sure what it is but i cant keep living feeling like this. what is the universe trying to tell me???

on a lighter note.. i made 6 pairs of babylegs for $10! i just bought real long socks with pretty patterns and cut off the heel and toe. the made a cuff out of the instep and sewed it together. i found a tut on you tube. they are so cute. now to go measure my kids for patterns.....

Yay on the interview! Tomorrow. I leave at dark-thirty in the morning, tonight. My plane doesn't actually leave till 8am, but the airport's 2 hours away, and I have to be there ahead, so...I get up at 3ish a.m. to leave at 4.
But YAY!!! OMGs mamas...it's not the sex, or the hanging out, or the being together at all...I just want to breathe him. And be in close proximity.

Yeah, that was a bad move - he came home that night, ended up in urgent care for an abscessed tooth, and the next two days were spent at dentists and oral surgeons. Total cost $550. Ouch.

In their favor, they do not know we are Pagan, so they couldn't have possibly realized that was the weekend we planned to celebrate Summer Solstice (and we agreed to go before it clicked for us). However, she darn sure DID know that was Father's Day and has just made sure DH's dad will be without his children and grandchildren that day.
Thank you for the well wishes!

Bad Move-- I'd file that one under "be careful what you wish for", huh? I'm sorry he's going through that; ouch.

Boo on the conflict. I thought about having a small bonfire on Solstice since we are not going to PSG (for the first time in 10 consecutive years!). But my brother, who almost never visits anyone, may be in town that week, or weekend. My mom says not to count on it, but if he is, I'd put everything aside to see him. That's such a rarity.
Maybe I'll have the bonfire on the Saturday. Which day is Solstice? Sunday?

Amazingly, he flipped head over heels 270 degrees and landed flat on his back. With no injuries!!! Not even a bruise.

On Sunday, kiddos I went to the “Wildlife Conservation Center.” The have big game animals, (and a porcupine for good measure). DS loved the wood bison, musk ox & caribou herds. He really liked the porcupine.
WOW, scary baby moment!! Glad it all turned out alright! ~wipes brow~

Your nature center sounds so cool. Ours has things like wolves, bears, birds of prey, raccoons, and snakes. Bobcats. I would LOVE to see a musk ox up close and personal! I love those! How big are they really? In books they look huge.

My thoughts about your DH and commercial holidays: it's not about the person who's a fan of them or not. He can refuse to honor Father's Day if he likes, because he'd be the recipient, but if YOU like Mother's Day and wish to be honored, he should go along with that, and at least wish you a happy day. It's not a commercial day if you don't Buy Stuff for it, like cards and flowers and stuff that's meant to spike sales.

Here it's 50, rainy, damp, and windy. Yep, it's not right. I've got the heat on and I'm still in sweats and flannel!

I'd be making a not-so-subtle suggestion to my DH if he'd done that
But being that I don't have a DH (well, a handfasted one 800+ miles away, but...) it really helps that I have a DS who is now 9 and LOVES to wash the car

I'd like to check out your recipes

That is weird, Lioness; it does sound like the Universe is trying to tell you something. I wish I had an answer for you! Maybe divine about it? Meditate?

Those babylegs sound like something I'd like for myself Unless they're like the leg warmers of the 80s...yes, I know I'm dating myself

Tomorrow tomorrow tomorrow I will be in my love's arms once again

Clay, I think I forgot you; so sorry! Yay double yay on the inspection!

Hope everything gets better for Roo DoK.

Liza-s: I'm so glad he's okay! Ds did that when he decided to jump off the top of the large slide instead of slide down once. I've come to the conclusion he's made of flubber.

Soooo, you know about pregnancy sexy dreams right ladies? I had one but I'm calling it a nightmare lol. I was driving and crashed my car into another car and this like 800 pound man came out and was like, "I'm a doctor baby..." and then yeah...you know what happened. Scarier part? The whole time he had me feeding him McDonald's french fries while together! *gag*

I told dh and dp and they both laughed at me Big meanies.

Baby name Jupiter? Would love your opinion.

Hi Everyone,

I thought this might be a good place to ask. I am thinking of naming my baby Jupiter, both my husband and I like it a lot although I am sure we will get some grief about it too. We named our first son Woodland and everyone eventually got used to it and his name really fits him. We call him Woody and we plan to call this baby mostly Jupe, kind of like rhymes with soup. So, after someone told me that Jupiter is the god of death, I became concerned and when I googled it I found only positive things, so can you tell me if I am missing something? Also, your opinions on the name would be great too. Thanks so much!

Woodland- I'm not too fond of the name Jupiter. Sorry.
Woodland- interesting name. I wanted to name a child Amethyst and call them Thy (Ty). I try to look ahead and imagine my child standing at a podium or at a wedding or some big event, and saying their name. Can you see him at 21 being Jupiter?

DOK-How's Roo? My kids have colds/coughs but they are mending. We are invited to a game day at a friend's but I'm not sure if we will go. I did send Bella to dance- I hate to expose other kids to germs though- but this is their chance to socialize for the week. What to do?

Nothing in the house sounds good for breakfast. Tired of toast or cereal, not interested in oatmeal. Hmph. Maybe I will have my left over sub. hehe I am ready for the rain to stop.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Sunny and 50F right now... but windy. I'm still . Tulips had survived the snow but Monday's frost killed them.

I'm trying to get used to my glasses. I feel sea sick.

Jupiter as a name: pretty big name for a tiny baby... but ask "him" in a meditation and he'll tell you if it's a go or a no.

Hello! Back from my trip. Feeling deeply sad -- well -- bereft, is the word --- but going to move through it and try to enjoy the day. We are having a gorgeous warm sunny week. Going to do a lot of planting this new moon!

Hope all the coughing kidlets are well.

Did I say how gorgeous your daughter is, Wolfcat? I know I'm missing a bunch but have not the time or energy to page back atm.

I stopped by the site of my grandparents' old homestead (no house there now, but a foundation and the old trees of the yard). A beautiful place, which I've always loved and felt gratitude for. Couldn't stay as long as I wished but found a couple of animal skeletons in the yard, in different stages of decay. Goats, I think? or given the area, more likely very young calves. I don't know as much about wildlife as I"d like, but I think maybe some coyotes have denned there, in or around the foundation of that old house -- oh, but my gran would have hated that thought!

I was personally a little disturbed, but I don't think I actually mind. Maybe I should mind more? Glad someone/thing is living there, and I enjoy that the place has gone so wild. It's not the first time it was occupied by someone outside the pale. An escaped con lived in the empty house in the late 80s, and burned it down, too.

Couldn't see any cattle pastured near there at all though -- no clue who I should tell about the lost livestock.

I did not make it across the hundred acres to the spring, but did plant some crystals around the old home site to help me in visualizing a connection to that place, where I spent summers as a child, and where many members of my family were born. WIll make it to the spring next time.

Jupiter certainly wasn't the god of death, as I'm sure you found out, Woodland. I quite like the name, actually. Non-pagan association: I used to read a series of children's books called (I think) Alfred Hitchcock Presents: The Three Investigatorsd. Three boys in SoCal teamed up to solve mysteries with the occasional help of famed director, Mr. Hitchcock. Their leader, and my favorite, was named Jupiter Jones....

Aeress- Mmm...a sammy for breakie. Sorry about the colds. Mine are sick too, and it caught me off guard for some reason.

Hi Woodland-I think names are tricky because someone will always have a negative association with a name whatever it may be. If it feels right to you and your family, then I think that's the important part. This is coming from someone who usually hears, "Oh, why did you name him (DS) that-is it a family name?" It's not really said in a ...I love that name- why'd you pick it? It more of a perplexed...why would you pick that name unless you had a reason. I love his name. It suits him & he loves it too. I'm not saying Jupiter is in this category-just telling you where I'm coming from.

Aubergine-Sounds like a nice visit to an important place to you and your family. I'm sorry about your loss Thanks for the new moon reminder. I'm usually pretty aware and connected to the moon cycles, but I'm off at the moment.

I'm so happy to be back at my home, but at the same time I feel a little paralyzed and overwhelmed. I know this is to be expected with moving-I'm just so tired of sustaining this state for such a long period of time-since the end of Jan. I think I'll put some intention into planning a new moon ritual for tomorrow (thanks again Aubergine).

Bright Blessings to everyone

whoops
DoK- Yikes and sorry

Aubergine- How neat that you can visit a homesite of your family! I've been working on my genealogy lately, so your story really appeals to me

Woodland- I like unusual names. I also like to see if the name fits the baby after it's born, kinda try it on, yk? Jupe would be a cool nickname.

Aeress- my family likes soup for breakfast. Noodle soup, miso soup...

Dinner last night was yummy, esp my carrot cake. Now I want carrot cake for breakfast!

Off to check out mooncircles new moon article

apparently the universe was telling me something bc the lady called my house twice the other day to update me on my friends status (he had back surgery). i found the courage to say something and she was responsive! she said she would love to have moreinfo. then she called back later and asked me about natural childbirth! her DH had told her to ask me thinking i would say that it was awful and to get med right away. but i told her the best birht i ever had was the natural one. so now i am going to send her some info on circ and care of the intact penis. i feel better now. like a weight had been lifted from me. so obviously i was supposed to give her this info.i told her to call me if she ever has any questions, i would be happy to answer them. i am glad i talked to her. the nausea is gone and i actually got some sleep last night.
