I'm blah.

Big clash yesterday... again...

No idea what I want, what I need, what I ought to do.

I'm stuck... litterally, my van is broken so I can't even go get bread.

Feel doomed.

Can't eat... Yesterday, I've manage to take in only 800 something calories... Not enough...

I hate this knot in my stomach. Damn feelings.

Sorry to be a downer...
crawling back under my rock...

I'm so sorry you are going through a hard time. Don't feel bad about getting your feelings out here. We are all here for you.
May things get better for you VERY soon.

I wish I could email the excess to all of you. With the heat expected this week, I have got to eat all of our lettuce before it bolts.

what would you wear? What would you have your dh wear?
Why in the world would you get rid of sassafras? We love that! DS eats it like candy, while he's playing outside. Honeysuckle, too, yum.

I wish you could mail me the lettuce, too. Me lurve salad!

I would wear the quintessential little black dress. Or I'd just go as me. Which is normally some kind of long flowing floor-length dress that is pretty yet comfy.
I don't care, normally, about what the standards are or what other people wear--but that's just me
As for DH, probably nice pants that aren't jeans but aren't suit pants? And a nice shirt. I dunno. Sorry I'm not more helpful
Sounds like a fun time no matter what, though!

Mine's an electric. I lurve it. It's a Black and Decker "Grass Hog" that I got on Freecycle. Can't beat the price! And it works like a charm.

Well, I did lots more than edging. I actually mowed half the dang lawn with it. I'm still tired from yesterday!

ETA: posted before I saw yours, Valerie. BIG hugs, mama

Maia- we call it both a weed eater and a weed whacker. the real challenge is getting dh to do it, lol.

Clay- when dd1 had the pox, dd2 didn't break out until 21 days later!!

unschoolin- Hope your appetite returns soon

Valerie

bluets- Yay on your garden. Re:reunion attire- I'd dress up a bit, but still be comfortable. I like dresses and skirts, or a nice dark pair of jeans. A bit of bling can add some sparkle. Sounds fun, I'm looking forward to my 20yr reunion, didn't go to the 10th.

I've got about a month left before I run the marathon. Yesterday I ran 18 miles. I think I'm at 234 miles for the year total. I'm just a running machine.

hey there everyone. i am pooped! all the littles are getting sick. blaaa. and i am all stuffy which sucks when you have an over active gag reflex. lol

unschoolin' : about the bm thing. a good point to make with your dh (if it comes up again) is that it makes total sense why they would go at the end of the day, dinner is digesting and is working it's way down, so it is moving out all the other stuff.

to everyone who needs one.

Quick drive-by due to work - but I'll pop back all day today. (seriously work will drive me batty otherwise!)

Clay - wish we lived closer to come and get some pox! I hope though Ro is feeling better and the worst is over. I also hear you about milestones - Sam is going through the same right now. Yay/ugh is my feeling.

Blue - mmmm uses for lettuce that are not salad: Green smoothies, lettuce wraps, chopped up with antipasto salad or pasta salad. I second the food pantry idea too. I think its called ample harvest (dot) org which basically matches up local pantries with gardeners who have too much! Its a cool idea and a great way to get fresh produce to those who need it!

Maia - its a weed eater in my book. DH calls it a weeder, but I think he just made that up.

unschool - all this yummy food and still losing weight? Lucky lady. Both my boys had me gaining like 40+ lbs, I think it was their love of tex-mex, indian, chinese, mediterranean which did me in P.S. pass the cake s'il vous plait

sap - happy running! you have reminded me I have a 5k in july I need to start training for.

mamaof3 - and happy monday!!

val - your post has a very haiku-ish quality about it . Come back from your rock and we are here with hugs and listening ears if you need it!!!

to everyone I may have missed my 5 minute MDC break is over until next hour.

Hope things get worked out and become more clear soon.

Clay-Sorry about the pox. Hope everyone gets through it the best they can, and that you don't get too wore out.

Saphire-Wow on the running! 18 miles is nothing to sneeze at.

unschoolin-I lost a lot of weight with both my kiddos in the 1st tri. Do you feel ok? I felt a little nervous about it at the time, but it just seems to be what my body does.

Eek! my puter's about to run out of battery-I'd better post.

Take care mamas. Hang in there and may calm energy be headed in our direction.

We use a weed-whacker to edge lawns. Or many do -- ours died and I've been keeping up with the edging by just pulling handfuls of grass out by the roots where the mower can't get it. Dh wants another one, but I want fewer loud noises in my yard.

Valérie - . I agree, that was a very poetic post, but I'm sorry you are feeling sad. Sending vibes of clarity and happiness your way, visualizing you feeling better....

Going to have to look for that Hex Hall book. DoK did you end up going out with Roo?

Sorry about the pox, Clay, but glad it came now and not on your camping trip! Hope the end of the itch and misery is nearer than you think. And the Baba Yaga chicken coop is brilliance. If you make a nifty skull /chicken feet accessory or sign that you are happy with, you should totally Etsy it in your shop.... I recently read Orson Scott Card's Fairy Tale, which features Baba Yaga prominently. I don't enjoy all of Card's books, but I love the ending of this one.

Yep, we went to my friends house for dinner/snacks and then stayed for fireworks. Ds stood there plugging his ears and only lasted a couple minutes before he HAD to hide inside. It was pretty loud.

Yes! Read Hex Hall! The name doesn't do it justice!

Hi! Wow did I miss most of this month or what?? It's been a looong one and not particularly easy, but on the up side I finally located DD's lost sneakers that disappeared a week ago, I've dropped 5 lbs AND I have a job interview with a kick ass company coming up! We won't go to the down side of things, but we are not going to have much internet access here really soon for a while if that gives you an idea.

Not caught up, have to go get the kids, but wanted to say hi and that I haven't forgotten y'all!
Clay...hope the pox passes soon and without further ado.

Valerie, I hope things get better soon!

Maia, I vote for weed whacker, but I'm a MA native. I too agree that a weed eater is a goat

It's a beautiful day, and DD is sleeping...Sigh. I'll get out there soon, I guess!
The weight loss is odd. I do eat, but only little bites of everything. Sometimes I'm getting extremely shaky now, dizzy. Not good I know. We'll be back out shopping this week, so I'll be able to get something I really want...crab legs!!!!

Valerie...*hugs* to you hon. I'm thinking of you.
Forgot to say that I call it a weed eater but dh calls it a weed whacker. But then I also say pop, he says soda.

What part do you eat? You eat it raw?

HAHAHA. The little black dress is so "not me." I'm more of a "mid-calf" skirt and blouse kinda gal.... when I must get into a dress sort of thing. Otherwise, I'm most comfortable in pants of some sort.

And yeah, I can totally agree with dressing for comfort - thanks for reminding me. All those snooty people who dress up won't be comfortable but I will. Makes for a better evening.

Right, so why is it that I very rarely remember? Like, I've had 3 dreams that I can still vividly recall. Within the past few months, I've awaken in the morning more often (once a week max?) recalling that I did dream, but not what the dream was. But there are long stretches of time in my life where my head hits the pillow, then I wake up the next morning (with minor ds interruptions in the middle but not generally enough to wake me fully). I feel like complete crap in the morning when I recall having had a dream, even worse when I can actually recall the dream. So, while I'm a little envious for those who do have dream recall, now that I remember how awful I feel when I wake up knowing that I was dreaming.... I think I'll keep my un-recollected dreams out of arms' reach.

Maybe you need to do the waxing moon ritual I found:

Waxing Moon Goddess Tea Ritual

Get Ready: Gather The Following Goodies ~ White candle of any size you happen to have
~ Olive oil ~ To anoint your candle with
~ Cinnamon ~ For courage, success & happiness
~ Tea ~ For courage, strength & abundance
~ Honey (or sugar) ~ To represent the sweetness of life

Get Set: Do A Little Prep Before You Get Started
Make a cup of your favorite tea and sweeten it with honey (or sugar) to represent the sweetness of life. Then put in a sprinkle of cinnamon to add a little spice of life too.
Anoint (just a fancy way of saying rub) the white candle with olive oil and roll it in ground cinnamon, keeping your goals for the coming month in mind.

Go: Say the Following Words Aloud
"As the moon grows, so do I. And tonight I honor that growth through this ritual.

As I light this candle, I give thanks for all that I've done in my life ~ for all the experiences, lessons and growth. I honor myself for all the goals I've accomplished in the past, and for all that I'm about to achieve in my future.

As the light of the growing moon is joined by the light of this candle, I can see the path ahead of me illuminated more clearly than ever before. And I pledge to walk this path in beauty and in peace, changing direction when necessary to meet the needs of the person I'm becoming along the way.

With the expansive energy of the waxing moon, I allow my own light to shine brighter in the world, knowing that I can call upon my inner strength and wisdom to overcome my fears and to take the actions necessary to achieve my goals with courage and faith.
May my prayers take flight with this flame and be received and amplified by my Spirit Guides as they reflect them back to me as physical results. Blessed Be!"

Relax and Enjoy
Now sit back and sip your tea. Take time to truly savor it like a Goddess would. Taste the sweetness of the honey or sugar on your tongue and don't rush. Instead, use this time wisely to breathe, meditate or just to daydream as you think about how great it'll feel as you work toward your goals this month.

Note: The Waxing Moon phase runs until May 27th, when the Moon is full in the sky again. Enjoy!

Book sounds interesting. Must go look up.
Why did you have fireworks? What occasion? I lurve them...but we only get them on the 4th of July.

WB Sunshine! Good luck with the interview. I hope you don't have to give up internet for finances I almost had to. Then I found out if I have a landline, I can give up the actual phone but just have DSL-lite for only $19.99 a month! So I don't have to give it up just yet.

Sounds hypoglycemic, kiddo. Crab legs... I broke down and bought some last week. Haven't had them in ages, and couldn't resist! Massive grocery bill, but ye gods it was worth it.

Yeah, the leaves. They're a bit gelatinous, if you don't mind that, which I do. I prefer them a bit dried out. But ds loves them right off the tree. Plus you can make soda or tea out of the roots, though I've not done it. Don't know how. We've got tons of baby sassafras behind my house

For me, a "dreamless" night means an uber-good, dead-to-the-world night's sleep

So it looks like weed eater and weed whacker are about even, and that in MA nobody's ever heard of weed eater.
M's been in MA for like 30-odd years, so it's no surprise that he says weed whacker. I am pretty sure they didn't have them in NJ when we were growing up. But then, they didn't have lots of things back then

Some sleep specialist believe that it's due to when in your sleep cycle that you wake up. Some believe that it has something to do with the way the brain functions (neurons firing/connecting.)

*thuds*

Dear Goddess, I am exhausted.

Maia- I think here in WA its interchangable, at least in my family it is. Sadly, I no longer have a yard to have someone do that.

Cari- We talked some more about it, not much though. Things were super hectic this weekend with his son her and going to see his family for the day on Saturday. Supposedly one of his buddies is coming over tonight and we're drinking. So, no talking until tomorrow if said friend comes over.

I read everything, but didn't retain much. Brain is fried from the worlds most boring day @ work ever.

Also, comcast sucks! My internet went out @ 4pm yesterday and DBF wasn't able to get it working again until about 1pm. Then, it went out when I got home and tried playing around. I called and the service guy was so rude. Probably gonna be switching soon.

Didn't you guys have flooding? Perhaps it's a way to help boost local economy?
