He hasn't slept all week :(

OK that's not totally true, he's sleeping right now but I mean during the night.... Since Sunday night he's been a wreck. Sunday-Tuesday we had started working on getting him to go to bed earlier (normal bedtime is after 11pm). Then Tuesday he had a fever all day and I realized he'd probably been borderline feverish the day before too. But he's been all better then last 2-3 nights and we gave up on trying for an earlier bedtime (at least for the moment) and he's still not sleeping. He is teething (constantly it seems) but he's not waking up in pain. He's not waking up hungry either, although nursing is the only way he'll get back to sleep, but I have to almost force him to nurse. Last night from 2-5am he was up crying every few minutes. I had DH change his diaper and I tried feeding him but nothing really helped. The night before it was from 3-5am. So it's around the same time every night. He's just fussy and seems uncomfortable but not in pain and nothing I do (singing, music, letting him resettle himself, nursing, letting him sleep on top of me) has been working at all. Just last week we were doing so well, he had been finally sleeping longer stretches for several weeks. Is there a 15-month sleep regression or something????? My head is KILLING me from only getting a few hours of sleep a night!

Poor you. My money is on teething. My ds would have an okay week then a terrible week until he got the last of his teeth through. He now wakes once or twice and has stopped being awake for periods of time in the night.

Hang in there.

sounds like teething to me too. DS did the same thing when he was about to pop a tooth.

I guess that's gotta be it! I hate teething I feel so bad for the poor kid & nothing I do seems to help.

Why not test the teething idea by giving him a bit of tempra or something. That way you can rule it out with confidence.

What is tempra?

Good news though, he actually SLEPT last night! He only woke once every hour or two! YAY! I feel so much better today I hope the better sleep continues...

FWIW, teething remedies never helped my DS during the night. I think those darn things just hurt so bad. And at night when they are laying down it hurts them much worse.
