What is this plant?

It came from my food scraps. It was so long ago, I couldn't even begin to tell you what was in my scrap bucket. There were a bunch of them and I plucked all but the largest. I'm curious to see what it grows into! But the suspense is killing me, plus I don't know if it's compatible with the squash it's growing next to.

Anyone wanna guess?

My guess is corn.

That's what I thought too, but the only corn in my scrap bucket would have been cooked and kernels wouldn't sprout after they'd been cooked would they? It seems too "flimsy" for corn too.

Corn was my first thought too, before reading the PP's response. That's what my baby corn plants looked like...before they got eaten by critters.
