Honduras. For a year. I taught at a private bilingual elementary school up in the mountains. I thought about staying longer, but I had student loans that needed to be paid off, and you can't do that when you're earning in Lempiras. I followed the recent coup pretty closely, was rather glad I wasn't there for that! It's such a beautiful area of the world, and the people I met were just terrific, but oh my, the poverty and illness and casual attitude towards life. I wish I'd had more opportunity to travel around, but money and time, money and time. I did explore Honduras a bit, went to El Salvador twice, but that was all. I wanted to go to Belize, but the owners of the school I was working at thought that was such a phenomenally bad idea that they subsidized my plane ticket back to the U.S. I was originally going to travel by bus and then by boat to Belize, and fly out of there when I went back home, but I ended up going straight out of Honduras.

I have not been doing too well on the weight loss front. I am still 121, which is OK, but it's been raining raining raining here, plus it's cold and grey and windy. Not at all pleasant for a walk with the stroller, so I haven't been exercising much.

I am also realizing just how much bread I eat. Easily the equivalent of half a loaf per day. Easily. Is this bad? My husband thinks it is. I know white flour will spike your insulin almost the same as sugar, and I know that's related to fat storage (not to mention a whole host of other things), but I really crave it. Is it so bad if I just eat whole wheat bread? It's not quite as satisfying, but I guess I could do it.

Beth- If weight watchers works for you, you should def join. I know a lot of people who have been successful with their program.
AnnieMac- I love bread, too. I could eat a whole loaf of french bread at one sitting, especially if it's just made and still warm!

I weighed in at 143 today!

Everyone who wants to be included on the roster for the June thread, please post your stats now.. since tomorrow is June!

anyway, i started doing weight watchers on my own a few days ago, but i really didn't like how many points it was forcing me to eat. since i am nursing i get the extra 12 points, which brings my total to 31! i have a hard time eating above 25. has anyone done it before while nursing? is it okay to just do the lower number even while bf?

i'm pretty sure i'm at 175lbs making my may loss total 8lbs. Not the best, and I was hoping for more, but i'll take it. It does come out to about 2lbs per week. Slow and steady wins the race right?

HI Amanda,
I didn't see the June thread up already, so hopefully I'm not too late! My ever-unchanging stats:
Weight: 121
Hope to lose: 20 pounds
When? I don't know! Soon, I hope!

Amanda, I think 2lbs/week is a great rate of loss! I was at 2lbs/week for awhile but I've slowed down to 1lb/week. I am excited for June, only 5 pounds to go to reach prepregnancy weight, and 3 more after that to reach goal!

I'm at 127 still with my goal being 123-125.
