Should I worry about meconium in my expensive hemp diapers?

It's been over 5 years since my DD was born and I can't remember how sticky meconium is or how long it lasts. I'm totally committed to CDing but I'm worried about that stuff ruining my hemp one-size dipes that cost $18 a pop. At the very least, I'm worried about having to scrub and scrub to get it all off at a time when I don't want to have to worry about doing anything. Would adding a diaper liner work? Disposables are my last resort, but I'd rather do that than risk making a giant mess out of the diapers I've been drooling over for months. Any advice or suggestions?

me too. I think the worst one may been stained after the first wash, but I couldn't tell now which one it was. It is not stained now.

If you are worried cut up some old rags or receiving blankets and use them as liners, but as pp said it came right off of my diapers.

I'll just pipe up to say that I don't know any OS dipes that fit the average NB.

We used cut up old t-shirts. We tossed them when they were covered with meconium, washed them if they got pee on them.

I know the OS dipes will probably be bulky on my NB, who will be at least 9.5lbs judging by his/her older sibling, but I'd really rather use cloth than disposables and I don't want to buy a set of something to use for just a few weeks. Especially since we can not use synthetic fabrics. Even for covers. So...I think maybe I'll skip the official liners and use some of those thin baby washcloths that we have a million of, and put the terry side down. That should work right?
