my nipples hurt so bad im going nuts! EBF 7 m/o!

idk whats going on! she always pulls on my nipples and rips on and off b/c shes a very distracted eater and idk its just something she does BUT this has been going on for about 4 months now so i dont think thats whats wrong?
my nipples are killing me while shes eating right after and just all day really! my right is so painful im practically grinding my teeth while shes feeding! idk whats wrong or what to do. should i go see a doctor? what kind? who can i see IRL to help me?

do you think i have thrush? my nipples a real red but they are like raw and i dont have any cracks or bleeding. i have never had a yeast infection though and no one has been on any antibiotics ever. i think the last time i was on them i was maybe 12...

omg idk how much of this i can stand. i dont even have any pumped milk b/c i had to donate it...DD has a TON of intolerances and the list keeps building so i keep donating my stored milk...and im certainly not about to pump with my nipples like this. the pump has always been alot rougher than DD and its always been uncomfortable for me even with different sheild sizes and i have a medela.

so what do you think?

Hey, aw I'm sorry you're going through that I know how awful that can be, especially when you have no choice but to keep feeding when it's sooo painful.
I had this problem when my oldest was around 10months old. I went to my doctor and she gave me cream for it, the cream helped a lot, it was better in les than 2 days.

Before I even clicked I thought thrush. I would treat for thrush and work on nursing so she isn't pulling as much. Also call your local LLL and/or IBCLC and get a consult.

how do i treat thrush? do i go to my primary care doc? should i take the baby to the pediatrician? i called LLL and no one answered but i will try again go figure its like a beautiful saturday...

Have you had your first pp AF yet? I had this problem for a couple days before my first AF and it scared me a bit too.

Generally you would see your ob and your baby would see the ped. Here is all sort of info on thrush.

You can take ibuprofen for the pain too.

PP has a good point too, some women experience alot of pain during ovulation. It could be that but I still lean towards thrush because of your nipples.

I believe that you should see your doctor and ask to be tested for a staph infection on your nipples. Evidence shows that the majority of painful, sore nipples are due to issues with staph, which can inhibit your bodies ability to heal quickly and completely.

A thrush infection is usually indicated by sharp, stabbing, feeling within the breast. Some women describe it as feeling like there is broken glass in their breast. A thrush rash usually spreads across the breast past the areola.

I imagine that your nipple has been traumatized by your nursling popping on an off. I recommend seeing a doctor and getting an all purpose nipple cream. Try and nurse your 7 month old in a dark room or under a hooter hider.

ok so my OB is my PCP i had a horrendous AF (thats a period right?) over 2 weeks ago...they even thought i was going to need a blood transfusion but TG it stopped. its just my nipples that hurt my breasts are fine. not even myareolas just the actual nipple itself but they are so raw and painful omg its gettin worse and worse i will have to call tommorrow since its sunday TY ladies!

i get sore right around ovulation, but it's horrific around af time, cd 26-cd2 or so. i'm just gritting my teeth over here. i know it's not thrush, it's hormones but it's still ouch! s

well this morning DD bit my finger and guess what? shes got a sharp little tooth coming in! i wonder if that is affecting it as well. my right hurts soooooo much more than my left though and its especially painful where her top gums would be and the tooth is on the lower gums so idk im going to make an appt tommorrow anyway to see whats up
