Benedryl?

DS is 4 yo and nurse a little mostly at bedtime. He has a half a bottle of children's benedryl left over from when he had an allergic reaction to amocicylin(sp?).

I am having a really really bad allergy season. I don't normally take anything for it, but I am utterly miserable and it's not like a little drowsiness would interupt any plans that aren't already on hold from me being too miserable to work.

Would a little children's benedryl be OK? I figured I'd take the 12 yo dose.

I'm not concerned about it causing supply issues, I've been ready to ween for a while, but tend to give in when tired.

children's benadryl has been recalled - so if you do decide to take any, I would buy the adult version or generic. For me, it does cause drowsiness (though, I didn't notice it impacting my nurslings), and I prefer to take Zyrtec or Claritin if it's daytime.

Thanks for the heads up. I just checked though and it doesn't effect the bottle we have.

Claratin is L1 I believe. I took it while breastfeeding.
