Epsom salt bath help but it makes things (skin wise) worse for a little since the water temp causes a histamine reaction, then after it subsides, things look better than before.

Mo works the fastest for us. Love that stuff! And even better since it is the easiest to get into the kiddos.

DevaMajka, that looks like a rash that my son had that went away from molybdenum. (that is after cutting everything out and no success). His were in his legs and never bothered him any, but I was a worried mama. Now if I slack on the moly it comes back.

Today's first poop was a "good" one! Now I have the energy/motivation to go for a quick run.

To those who were curious- I did a full week on turkey, zucchini, pear, sweet potato, safflower oil, and sea salt. I saw slow improvement til the 3rd day, then 4 days of regression. So I changed to chicken, carrot, pear, sweet potato, olive oil, and sea salt. These changes were at the advice of the nutritionist at the GI's office. I also stopped all the pear "products" I was eating (juice, canned pears) to try to eliminate the possibility of corn contamination.
We're also both taking Culturelle, and I'm supping Calcium (Twinlabs) and Vit D (Bluebonnet).
How many "good" days do I need to have in a row before I start adding foods back in?

You guys are all so inspiring with your spring projects- I wonder what I can done before I go back to work...

Ooh... and who's doing what for Mother's Day?

Yep, round sander. I actually have a corner sander, but it still hasn't been located from the move. I do have a dremel- what would I do with that? I can't use the regular sanding tip- that would take too much off the floor, plus it would be a really weird angle. Do they make another type of sanding head for it?

I thought it had a regular sanding head, no? I don't even know where mine is to look...

LisamommyRN- sounds like you made some good changes! Yay for that! I've read that you want 4-7 days (depending on where you read) symptom free before you trial anything.

changingseasons- it's totally impressive that you have that much energy (and patience!) to do all that work with lo's around! I can't believe you got a whole floor done- it hasn't been that long since you started, has it?

Ok, so I guess I'm on the right track. bummer I was hoping it was something so simple as a fungal rash I asked at DS too, and most of the ladies there agreed that it looked like eczema.
On the bright side, I should have some molybdenum relatively soon (though stuff takes forever to get her through the mail). At least that gives me hope!

My brain doesn't seem to be working so well. What else is new? Did I loan someone on here my Pottenger's Cats book? I wanted to loan it to my dad's girlfriend, and I remember loaning it out to someone, but can't remember who, but here would be my best guess. Since no one in my real world cares about nutrition for their cats or themselves.

Back spasmed bad last night right while I was trying to make dinner. I'm figuring it was the food at the Ball. I knew the veggies tasted too good to be plain (I only ate a couple before I figured I was tasting butter). And today I've got a wicked sinus headache. Ugh.

Ground beef (preferably ground round, but I just use hamburger), spices, salt, minced onions and minced garlic... You can use a "filler" (ie safe flour or safe grain- my Stepdad used mashed potatoes) that won't be noticed. Then you shape it into ovals. Brown them, then add ingredients to make a gravy (safe flour, broth- brown mushrooms or onions first if you want those in the gravy) and simmer for 20 minutes.

Yeah really, Jess. You're rocking that house! You're far braver than I, painting and sanding with LOs about.

Thanks for the input on Mo, Mag, B6. I guess it's about time for me to get serious about supping DS2.

I'd say that's about right for baseline - 5 days.

So it's really like a big swedish meatball! I'll have to do this. I'm almost out of the pastured ground beef though. Maybe this is something I could do with the ground lamb. With enough spices, it'll cover up the blechy taste.

Huh. So swedish meatballs are really just tiny Salisbury steaks?
I've tried to make swedish meatballs before but just fail and fail. I don't know what I was doing wrong, exactly, but I'm pretty sure I wasn't doing it like this. Makes more sense to me now.

Well considering it sounds like the exact same ingredients. The only thing is with the meatballs, you throw them in raw into the gravy, where the salisbury steak you brown first, and then put the gravy on top. No wonder I like them both. I'll have to do the Salisbury Steak version soon. When I was a kid, that was my favorite TV dinner, with the fake mashed potatoes. YUM!!

Just popping in to say hi and sub to the thread

My garden is planted and really starting to grow. This weekend my carrots started popping up and it was very exciting Allergies are the same as always. No horrible reactions but lots of minor ones. Reminds me that I need to schedul a new appt with PB for more flower essences! I hope everyone is doing well!

I think CRAZY is the word you're looking for. Really, I can only do that major stuff when DP is home because he can take DD out of the house. No way to do it with her here. And the sanding he really did do a big chunk of, so it wasn't all me. Now we just have to stain, and then 2 coats of finish... and then ONE room will be done. We're having a graduation party for DP in 3 weeks, and I have really big goals of stuff that I want to have done before then. hahahahahahahaha

Man, we are having one crazy windstorm here. It is tearing up my garden. I had some plastic over a few newly transplanted seedlings, held down by big rocks. Well, a big gust must have yanked up the plastic, and it threw one of the rocks into my pumpkin plant, completely destroying it. There goes 2 months of growth... Now I'm just waiting for one of the huge garbage cans to fall over and smoosh the rest of the plants (The garbage cans that I put next to the garden to keep my neighbor from driving over it. )

Ok, I'm done whining now....

I have the book. Haven't read it. I'll get on it right now.

the back spasms could be a herx. Did your doctor talk about those with you? Basically, when the critters die off they release toxins & they can cause your symptoms to come back horribly for a while.

Has anyone used the coconut milk powder from Wilderness Family Naturals? They apparently no longer have coconut milk in the can.

So I want a birthday cake for my birthday next month. But I don't want to make it. Any thoughts?
I'll make you one. Though I'd hate to see it by the time it got there... of course, if you're coming down here for a doctor's appt I could bring it to you...

Have you done searches for specialty bakers in your area? I know there's one around here that does gluten-free (they were written up in Living Without magazine) and one that does gluten-free/dairy-free. I haven't actually considered it because of all of the other things we're avoiding, but it's possible that a bakery could do it.
Fiore's Italian Bakery (Jamaica Plain) or Flour Bakery & Cafe (Farnsworth St, and also one on Washington St.). Both said they have vegan things, and gluten-free things, so you may be able to order something that would fit the bill... wouldn't that be nice?

Does it mean anything if ds's rash is worse after 2 days on a TED? Does it mean I have the wrong foods, or could I be on the right track, and it's a delayed reaction from something 3-4 days ago?

I would say you have the wrong foods. If it's worse- what are you eating *more* of than usual?
