sugarmoon!

bec ~ I see hill repeats in your very near future

mommajb ~ congratulations on making the very best of a wet, windy crowded race! Great job, and way to negative split in a big way.

cfg ~ let the taper-madness begin! I bet this time will be much easier than your first though.

JenLove ~ I absolutely loved your blog entry. It sounds like you and lofty had a fantastic time together.

Jo ~ mmmm.... soft baby lambs. How's the new kitty doing? What did your kids think?

I'm headed to the Y for a nice, long swim this morning, and spending the afternoon planting my vegetable garden. It's gorgeous out and I can't wait to get my hands in the dirt .

100 pushups and 100 situps for 100 days. I'm going to throw in 100 squats every other day too because my legs are too skinny.

I'm having a latte here then it's off to Girl's Day with my mom and sister.

Happy Monday!

I was up for the opening of registration at 7 am, and good thing...my preferred lab section was filled up by 7:06! I'm in, and registered for my summer classes.

Oh, and DS this morning: "Where did all the cupcakes go, mommy?"

Yeah but remember how you rocked that race? Don't worry, we'll talk you down as needed.

Oh gosh, I should do that too! Do you just dive right in and go for the 100 all in one fell swoop or can you stagger them in the beginning? So jealous about your meet-up with Lofty. <-- me looking wistful.

We had quite the massive wind storm here last night. It looks like we may have lost our apple tree, it's leaning over at about a 30* angle now. I hate to lose a fruit tree but if we can't save it I'll be a tiny bit glad, it was planted way too close to the house and in a shady spot so it never seemed to be living up to its potential. Sadly the geese who have been sitting on a nest for the past month moved off their nest last night. I don't know if it's because they hatched some little ones and wanted to get them out of the wind or if they just gave up, but if there are still eggs on the nest I imagine that they're done for now.

Bec - Have fun on that hill!

Penelope - I would totally take your class.

Jo - Welcome home kitty, this is unusual isn't it? Kitty in the house? Weren't you allergic?

DrJen -

sugarmoon - Welcome!

La4 - I'm glad it doesn't grow back but at the thought!

So the goose just stood up on the lawn and underneath her were 5 goslings! SO cute.
Plady- Yay for goslings! I bet they are adorable.

Yoga done, just a basic routine. Now to get dressed and bike to the grocery store. We need some fresh fish and so we'll be cycling to the store across town instead of the one in our neighborhood. I hope DD doesn't drag on too badly, it's chilly out.

I'll be taking my Garmin with to see how far it is.

bec - ooooh, can't wait to hear about that hill!

plady - oh how exciting and cute they must be.

nemesis - I'm running in shoes. Enjoy your bike to the grocery. I always find it amusing to wear my Garmin on the bike because the MPH is so blazing fast compared to running, even though I'm an awfully slow biker.

100 squats? Wow! I should probably think about doing that after my marathon since I have the world's weakest quads (the reason why I'm so horrible at riding a bike). I doubt I could even do one.

Job situation not looking good. I know very very little, but it is not good.
Oh, Kerc. Hang in there mama. I love the advice you have gotten about the job search not being a definition. You are a wonderful woman with many strengths and talents.

Plady - yay for goslings!

Last night while running at the track I kept thinking about running the last lap barefoot, or taking a BF run down the field in the middle when I finished my 3 miles. I didn't do it, mostly because I'm not sure I'm ready to commit to BF and I assumed it might do more harm than good to go back and forth. Is this true?

Thinking of you, kerc.

Team 100 - I think the goal is just to get 100 in during the day. I'm doing the situps in 20's and the pushups in 10's right now. I'm outta shape!
Jen- Psh! I bet I could do 5 modified pushups. Maybe more. So, 100 in a day? I might try that. It sounds kind of fun. In a sore, stiff, tired sort of way.

Kerc- I'm still crossing my fingers for you.

No bike ride. It is raining and the kids were being bears. I just skipped and we are taking a break and eating now, then going curb-diving since it's spring cleanup week here.

I usually find a dozen or so bikes in riding shape and donate them to the shelter or put them up on freecycle. It's kind of fun and I'm always amazed at how many bikes I could get if I had any sort of shop or tools to fix them up with. There are tons out there that just need a little bit of work.

I go back and forth (with VFFs, I don't do true BF) and it hasn't hurt anything that I can tell. It seems to me that any BF running is better than none to get all those unused muscles strengthened. I do the majority of my milage in shoes and mostly use VFFs for recovery runs at this point. Maybe I'll work into 100% BF at some point...or maybe I won't.

kerc . I wish we could all be there to support you in person.

Hi Dingos!!

first, JO, I am so sorry for the loss of Milo. I know that is soooo hard.

Kerc~ I hope things work out the best for you and that waht you heard is not correct? If they don't hire you they STINK! and are missing out on someone amazing. How is your sinus infection?

RR: I RAN!! I really feel like getting back into it. I did a kick hard work out 18 minutes, drenched in sweat, then hopped on the TM for 2 miles non stop and no pain! Unreal. It feels GREAT. Hoping for more regular running.

eks~hi!

Plady, awww, gooslings!

squats~I'm telling you ladies, it is great for shaping your BUTT! I love 'em! those and lunges, and push ups, and ab work, etc.

I hope that what you've heard doesn't tell the important part that's good. I can't stand this whole process for you, it just seems totally inhumane.

You are so right! I have to force myself to do more but the effects can be seen pretty quick so they are self-reinforcing. Okay, I'm in. I will wait until after TKD tonight to see how many I end up doing there, because sometimes it's brutal. But it I don't get in enough I'll complete the 100 before I go to bed. Where's the girl scout's honor smilie?

I'm more in want of a girl scout badge when I get this 100 stuff done.

My 100's for the day are done.

Kerc. hugs to you.

Gaye, send on some cupcakes!

Plady, this wind is nutso! It's blowing the babies out like I've never seen. Of my friends, one doula had two clients go at the same time, another is at a birth, I just got home from one. And that's just the ones that had time to post FB updates. Yay for drops in barometric pressure! Of course, we also have trees down and the power was out at the school most of the morning.

DH, for the first time, actually forgot to pick E up from school. He remembered about half an hour after her was supposed to leave, then called me like I would be able to do something from an hour away. Um, I'm delivering a baby here, you can call the school and tell them you are late. Seriously.

kerc - I hope that it was idle gossip, and there is good news lurking. And remember, if one door closes, another is opening. I agree this process is really cruel.

So, I have an appointment with my doctor for tomorrow at 1!!! I'm sure I'll be in pain, because it's a run/strength workout in tri class, and I'm just being stubborn about it.

I'm totally in for the 100 club! I will start tomorrow! I need something new and different to get me reenergized, and to help my body remember that it should be losing some of the spare tire!
Ok, Dingos! I need your expert advice.

DH did the C25K for about 4 weeks last fall, then got too busy with work and never got back to it.

He just started again. This is run 3 and during the last run he started to have some leg pain that is getting worse now.

His description: Mid-foot pain going all the way up to his knee, especially into behind his knee.

I think he's just overworking his tendons, especially since he's been ending his runs going up a biggish hill (for our area!). I'm also biased and think he could just let his legs rest until his VFFs get here and then focus on walking and building up to the c25K program again in a month or two.

Opinions?
