About to join the happy May baby club....I'm due any day now!!

Our DD was always cloth diapered and we'll be doing that with this one too. But we never washed our own wipes before. I made some cloth flannel wipes. Now I just need to make my own wash solution and put it in the spray bottle that I bought. Any ideas??

I just take mine to the sink to wet because spraying till they are wet wasn't fun for me lol. When I did a spray bottle I used a little baby soap, and oil and it did work well for getting poo off.

I just use a wipe warmer on the changing table and a tupperware container in the diaper back, hot water with a few drops of lavendar Dr. Bronner's.

I just use straight water in the wipes warmer. When we were fighting a yeast diaper rash I added a bit of apple cider vinegar.

Thanks mamas. sounds like plain hot water will do it, but if I wanna get fancy ...some Dr. Bronners and maybe a little oil for cleaning off the poop.

I just use plain hot water also. I keep a mug warmer next to the changing table so there is always hot water.

We also use a wipes warmer, and my wipes are the crappy baby washcloths that come 30 to a pack for under five bucks.

Water
a small squirt of baby Dr. Bronner's
a drop of essential oils (it's a mix of sweet almond, chamomile, calendula, lemon and a couple others, but it smells lovely)
and a drop of TTO if she's rashy.

Water
Lavender EO
Tea tree EO
A couple drops of Dr Bronner's liquid baby soap

I keep it in a spray bottle and spray his butt and wipe instead of keeping the wipes wet.

I always used a mix of
water
olive oil
a bit of baby shampoo
a few drops of tea tree and lavender

put into a squeeze bottle (actually the peri bottles you get from the hospital for postpartum cleaning.) that i squirted onto flannel wipes.

I also use the peri bottle from the hospital. I use water and baby soap because I am lazy like that! Best wishes on your impending birth!!

i just use water....Dr said thats best

We also keep the wipes wet in a warmer. I pour water with a drop or two of lavendar/TTO over them. This worked greatuntil we started solids, then it weemed water wasn't getting her clean enough. Now I keep a bar of Dr. Bronner baby soap next to the wipes. If there is a mess, I just rub one of the warm wipes over the bar of soap and wipe the booty. Then I use another wipe without soap to rinse.
I read this idea and thought we would try it since we had the soap and it didn't require mixing a bunch of stuff up. It works great.

We use a couple drops of grapefruit seed oil (dd and I did a huge, huge battle against thrush for many, many months, and the gse is the one thing that has hung on since then), a drop of chamomile eo, and 2-3 drops of lavander eo. We use an old blueberry container on the change table, and just drop the cloth in and then wring it out. When we go out, I wet a few wipes and put them in the dry bag. We tried using the peri bottle initially, but I found it really irritating trying to get a uniformly wet wipe. You'll figure out a system that works for you - have fun!

I have a variety of wipes- bought some, had some sent free with diaper orders, and the bulk are cheapy terry wash cloths.

We use plain water.
We keep a peri bottle of water at the changing area and a little spray bottle of water in the diaper bag, but I like to go to the sink for a warm saturated wipe when I can. I like the idea of a thermos (with a pump) of warm water but haven't purchased one yet. I was carrying pre-wet wipes in my bag but found that I didn't always need them all and worried about them getting forgotten and sitting wet.

I've put a bit of baby wash and olive oil in the bottles before...but I wash my wipes with my diapers and now wonder if they should have been washed separately...

I'm new to CDing in general since my baby isn't even 4 months yet, but a tip I just figured out ...when using a cream or lotion you aren't sure about as far as CD safe, put the wipes in with baby's laundry instead of the diapers. I had been using a liner to keep cream off the dipes and then wiping her bum with a wipe and putting it in with her dirty diapers...ugh. Lack of sleep does crazy things with my ability to problem solve, lol.

Once she is eating solids and her poops change I may reassess the plain water.

Good old plain warm water

After years of baby wipes, I discovered that using small thin cheap baby washcloths with plain warm water works great. Warm water from the tap, that's it.

I use a wipe warmer, too. I roll up the cloth wipes and pour some warm water over, usually mixed with some regular olive oil, and sometimes a few drops of EO. The one I have is a mix of TTO and lavender, so I only have the one bottle to deal with. The olive oil is nice on her bum, but just plain water works as well. If DH makes the wipes (rarely) he just does the olive oil, which is fine.

I gave up on the spray bottles, peri bottles, and pre-made solutions (which I, too, bought while I was still pregnant.) Wetting the wipe at the sink didn't work for me because I like to wait until the water is warm, which takes a long time in our house. So using the wipe warmer saves water around here, and is more convenient since it's right next to our changing area.

I don't use a wipe warmer...we don't go through enough wipes frequently enough, and they would get gross. So I use a spray bottle and spray the solution on the baby, and then use the dry wipe to wipe it all off. I gave up on cloth wipes so many times before I figured this out! It's so simple, and it's always right where I need it, no needing to get up and get a wipe wet.

As for solution, we use CJ's BUTTer for diaper cream (I recommend it, it's amazing!) and I just dissolve a little bit of that in hot water when I fill up the bottles. Simple, simple!

I just use plain water... I just run to the bathroom and get them wet when he's poopy - if he's just wet, I don't usually bother, and just pop a clean diaper on. When we're out and about I use parents choice organic wipes from walmart.
