what are your favorite sandals/summertime shoes for toddlers? - Page 2

Definitely keens! Best shoes ever!! It's hard to shell out the $$, but before I usually ended up getting sneakers, water shoes and then some cheap sandals, all of which would wear out by the fall and now I pair lasts all spring/summer/early fall and is in perfect resale/reusable quality.

e love our Pedipeds originals. Soft sole but enough protection from stones. They have a toe cap so no stubbed toes. We want to keep our kids in soft soles as long as possible

We're in the keens & crocs camp too. Right now DS1 has his crocs, DS2 wears DS1 old ones he's outgrown. Its perfect. This year I'm getting DS1 a pair of keens because I need something sturdy to hold up to his running around, water-friendly and easy to get on. I love mine and I know he'll love his.

We have some hand me down teva's from my neice. They look great although they don't fit DD quite yet.

I have narrow feet and so does my DD so crocs and Keens don't fit very well for us. She still wears Airwalk crocs we bought second hand just around the yard and when in the garden. But our favorite shoes are Robeez...altho they are on the expensive side, she doesn't grow out of them too quickly and wears them all the time so we usually buy 2-3 pairs per year and that's all.

I just bought DS these again this year for the third year in a row. They are a little pricey at $25, but the toe end is covered, they are insanely flexible (think Robeez flexible), and they are relatively narrow. DS has super narrow feet, and Keens would never work for him. He also thinks they are very comfy, and have never rubbed his feet anywhere. I am so sad that this is the last year he will be able to wear them most likely. He is in a 9, and I don't think the 10's will fit next year, although I am tempted to buy them just in case they don't carry them again for a fourth year at Gymboree.

We love Stride Rites hands down. My kidlets have wide chubby feet and SRs fit them best. I especially love their fisherman sandals for summer.

Keens look great but their soles aren't near as flexible. Crocs are okay, but they seem so loose on their foot

There's a chance of getting a slightly better price on eBay if you're willing to spend a bunch of time bidding and waiting for auctions to end, and also if you're open to pre-worn shoes rather than new.
thanks! It did... I'm looking into them now

I was the original poster from quite a while ago -- I thought I'd post an update. I bought DD a pair of Keen sandals, based on the fantastic string of recommendations here. Unfortunately, they didn't work for us. DD was very excited about them and wore them 3 or 4 times, but then started to say they hurt her feet. She tried them once or twice more and then refused to wear them any more. She did always have red marks on the tops of her feet when she took them off.

So I bought her a pair of Tevas, and they've worked much better for us. She's been wearing them most days for a few weeks now, and when I offer her the option of sneakers or sandals, she chooses the Tevas.

Teva's have been working out great for my 22 month old for the past few months.

I am in love with Naturino shoes. Super cute sporty mary janes and t-straps. Great for running around at the playground (I rarely put dd in sandals because I feel it limits her movement/playing). They are a little pricey, but really well made. You can find them at zappos.com, sometimes on sale at piperlime.com.
