I am looking for a pair of water shoes for DD. She is a tiny toddler, almost 2 years old and wearing a size 5 shoe. I'm wondering what water shoes you love? We live in a beach town and will be at the shore almost every nice day and the beaches are rocky down by the waterline. I am also wondering how the sizes tend to run so that I can decide whether to size up or down or true to size for the summer. Ideally, I'd love to find a pair under $20, but I am willing to pay more for something with rave reviews. Please help before all of the stores sell out for the season!

We had a great pair of Tevas for last summer. They retailed for like $30, but I got them 2nd hand barely used for $3. This year I bought some sandals from Carter's for $15, haven't worn them much yet to make a good review. I recommend the Teva type shoe because it was very secure, provided good footing, and dried quickly. Don't buy that type (open toe) of shoe too big because they will constantly be tripping over it. Leather is a big no for us because ds gets blisters when they get wet. I also recommend maybe getting two pairs..a cheap-o pair and a nicer pair. That's what we did last year when we traveled a lot and spent a lot of time in the water.

Old navy has some good ones, they have sizes baby + big kid. I had a pair in size 5 last summer for ds, they still look great, and were nice b/c he could swim with them on and go to the beach and not burn his feet. I think they were under $15 (either 10 something or 12 something). I saw they had some when I was there today!
Flip flops/teva type things his feet would still burn b/c sand could get in.
This year I got him a new pair from a surf shop for $7, they are pretty much the same as last years, only they are pink!
