How quickly could symptoms disappear after going dairy-free?

I am on Day 6 of being dairy free. While DS still has some rash on his skin and is still scratching his ears, his torso has cleared up completely, his belly button is almost clear (just a touch of redness, no flaking) and he isn't scratching his eyes/ears constantly..more like occasionally.

I didn't expect to see any changes until after 2 weeks, after having read it takes 2 weeks for dairy to be out of my system (and DS is EBF). I'm thrilled to see some changes - but, is this normal and to be expected?

It was 5 days for me when I started seeing the positive effects of removing dairy. Poop stopped being green, he slept better, he was happier when he was awake....

It can take up to two weeks for ALL traces of dairy to be out of your system - but most will be gone by now - so it sounds like you've found your culprit, and are getting a quick response - congratulations!!

I sure hope this is it - I'll keep going with no dairy and watch him to see if everything clears up. Someone recommended we use digestive enzymes - I'm not familiar with this, so off to search the forums for more info.

Thanks!
