Any Hope for these Prefolds?

I am the proud owner of a bunch of used prefolds that were used as burpees and most likely washed with soaps with brighteners and dried with dryer sheets, etc. I ran some water on them and it runs right off rather than absorbing. Is there any hope for them? If I wash them several times in hot water, maybe some bleach and good (diaper friendly) detergent, will their absorbency come back? Any other tips?

I would wash them in hot water and some dish soap (Dawn if ya have it) and just keep stripping them. Do hot washes after the wash with dawn until you see no suds. They should be good as new after that.

If there is lots of build up it could take awhile lol.

I agree that the Dawn may do the trick. Another option would be to boil them a few at a time in a big pot of water.
