Another name question....

Thread Starter
My DH are having our second baby at the end of June and CANNOT agree at all on a name. Our first daughter has a unisex name a I kind of like it. Anyways, what do you all think of the name Beau for a girl or a boy? We might change the spelling if it come out a girl but what do you think?

Thanks!

I think it's one thing to name a girl a "boy" name (Quinn, Finn, Noah, whatever), but another thing entirely to name a girl something that is DEFINED as male.

A beau: a man who is the lover of a girl or young woman; a male escort for a girl or woman; a dandy; fop. –verb (used with object); to escort (a girl or woman), as to a social gathering.

Don't think I could do that one. Sorry.

This is exactly what I was thinking, too.

Beau is not a name I care for for either gender, but agree with the PPs about its usage for a girl.

Having grown up in Louisiana and speaking French, I agree with the pp..."beau" is the masculine version of "belle". I don't care for it for a girl but very nice and common in La. for a boy.
