I have forgotten everything....

Should I wake him? - After how long? He likes his sleep just like his brother did!

Also - Should I always offer a boob first? Cause hes a pretty sucky (for comfort) type of baby...and sometimes it feels like I am offering and he is just getting pissed off with me cause that is just not what he really wants.

I know - early days! I just feel like I don't know him yet which is frustrating!

I felt free to wake my daughter when I wanted- she seemed to feel the same, after all! About 3 hours and I'd get engorged, and waking her made her irritated enough to want to nurse, so I just went by my body clock. I don't think I ever let her sleep more than 4 hours at a stretch the first 3 months or so. Also, I always did offer to nurse first. If she didn't want to nurse, it was probably a dirty diaper, a poo-poo bum was the only thing mama's milk couldn't cure.

I woke after 2-3 hours during the day and after the first or two weeks (once regained birth weight) didn't at night. I also checked for a wet diaper before latching on, but we quickly found our rhythm of nurse, cuddle/awake, nap, nurse, cuddle/awake, nap, etc. You are doing a great job! Congrats on the new baby!

Im waking Molly every 2-3 hrs during the day, usually cause my boobs get uncomfy around that time and start consistantly having the let down reflex until I nurse her-and there for leaking and making ANYTHING I wear have milk stains on them

During the night I wake her at least once - usually around 2am, so she never goes more than around 4hrs without food.

She was pretty jaundiced though and I can still see yellow-ishness in her eyes and she has yet to regain her birth weight. When she does hit 7lbs 12oz again (hopefully this week at her 2 week check) I will probably be a little less paranoid about waking her and will try and let her set her own pattern.

I woke up my DD so her feedings were never more than 3 hours apart during the day time for a while (few months?). She kinda did the sleep-eating thing and then woke up happy, so I didn't feel had that I had woken her up.
