Weird symptoms? I'm crazy, right?

So...maybe it is just because I've used an IUD for so long and now I don't have it. Or maybe the desire to start ttc is getting the better of me, and I am having trouble waiting 2 more months. I don't know, but I'm having these weird symptoms.

First of all, my IUD was removed on CD 12. My husband and I had sex on CD 13, and we started without a condom, then stopped and he put one on. Again on CD 15 with a condom on the whole time. I ovulated on CD 15 or 16.

Yesterday and the day before (nothing yet today) I was getting these random shooting/stabbing pains in my breasts, and they are (especially one of them) kind of tender. I do normally get tender breasts before AF, but not generally this early, I'm not expecting AF for 5 or 6 days. Then the really odd one is that I have felt on the right side of my tummy, really low (like almost in my groin) these pulling/twinge type sensations.

I'm crazy, right? The chances of me actually being pregnant are pretty slim, right?

I really am no good at waiting for anything.

Because you just had the IUD out I would be more inclined to blame ANYTHING on the effects it had on your body (especially if it were Mirena, but even if it did not contain any hormones, that can be a stressful situation for your body to bounce back from)

If it were Mirena it can take up to 6 months for your body to regulate itself afterwards.

Nope, not the Mirena, the Paragard (copper.) I had bleeding the day of removal, possibly a slightly delayed ovulation (Day 16 or 17 instead of my usual 15) but that's it as far as weirdness.

but if you o'd on cd 15 or 16, and a few spermies got loose on cd13, there's a chance. oh paraguard, even better. but mirena doesnt really take any time to bounce back from- the endometrium might be a little thin the first cycle is all, but the company says if you dont see af by 4-6 wks, test. with paraguard, even less to think about. the only thing is, lousli, that you will drive yourself batty if you think about every lil twinge and cramp. we all do it, but it's a bi-otch, really. try to hang in there. you will know soon, and if not, good luck when you try!

That was the same IUD I had, but remember I had so much difficulty with the IUD when it was in, that I didn't over-analyze the symptoms when it came out, because things gradually got better (twinges, discharge, etc). I think what you're experiencing is very likely your body readjusting to having it out. Regardless of whether it contains hormones, an IUD interrupts the body's normal processes (and meridian lines of energy, if you buy into that), and there is a necessary period of time during which the body needs to move things around back to the way it wants to be!

I know, I think I am just pretty excited, and slightly nervous about that one time that started off without a condom. But whatever happens, happens. I'll try not to obsess.

So, I'm still in that trying not to obsess stage.

I still definitely have tender breasts, but the shooting pains are gone. Today I still have a few twinges here and there and that pulling feeling every once in a while near my groin, but I also feel crampy. Like seriously AF is coming kinda crampy. And I haven't just been sitting around focusing on it, I've been working (I'm a teacher, and I've been moving around the room, sitting on the floor, giving lessons, etc.)

So without a doubt my period is not due for at least 4 days, maybe 5 or 6. I don't generally have cramps until I start or sometimes the night before. But not 4 days before.

Okay, here is me telling myself, "It is because you got the IUD out, it is because you got the IUD out..."

And then the tiny voice says, "But you got it out 12 days ago!"

but your symptoms and your cycles are going to be different now that the iud is out.

cramps are no help. cramps happen equally with af and pg. read the posts, you see it all day long here... "i've got cramps, af must be coming," "oh, you've got cramps, no, that must mean you are pg," "ive never had these kinds of cramps, it must be im pg...... oops, no, af just came." not to be a downer, you just really really can't tell.

you've got a chance. just remember too that you are going to feel different this month because 1.) you know you do have a chance, so you are hyperaware of everything, whether you are busy or not, it's on your mind, and 2.) you just had a contraceptive device removed from your body.

the good news is, you will know in a week or less one way or the other. in fact, if af is due in 4 days, you can test anytime.

Thanks! I actually have a relatively short LP, about 11 days generally, so I can't test for 3-4 more days, and by then I will probably not need to, since AF will come. But you know that with those IC's sitting in my drawer at home, I'm going to have a hard time not testing tomorrow and the next day.

and if you did start off that one day without protection, unless he let the swimmers loose within a couple hours of DTD or didn't put on the condom before ejaculating once...your chance is virtually nil (withdrawal method works for most based on this theory as it is proven that there is no sperm in pre-ejac unless the scenario above)

ummm, not sure about the no sperms in pre-ejac. i conceived my twins in a very similar situation to the one described here.

Well, I'm just waiting it out now, 8 DPO, temp rose more today, but I'm feeling so far, totally normal today, except still sore breasts. I'm going to vote not pregnant.

Google it. More research has been done on the subject. Your pregnancy likely resulted from the pipes still likely having some swimmers leftover, not because pre-ejac has sperm.

I'm back again with another question. The right side pain is back, although not severe in any way, it is definitely noticeable.

Could this be an ovarian cyst of some kind? I've never had one, what do they feel like?

My son was our big surprise....we used pull-out for hmmm...10years....but one spermy made it through!

I'd say 10 years is pretty good for withdrawal method, given the stats.
