vbac option 4 hours away

Thread Starter
I was hoping for a vbac this time, but the closest hospital is 4 hours away, I could stay at a hotel for a couple weeks but not sure if I can afford that and if the timing works out.
So stressed about that, I will be alone at birth and don't know what the lesser evil is?
My local hospital is great but they r just not big enough for vbac support.
What do you think? Experiences?

What do you mean you will be alone at the birth? I'd hire a Doula alone or not (and have). Why do you feel the hospitals around you can't do VBAC? Is it a ban? I'm not sure what you mean by lack of support.

Here is some info on what you can do in the case of a ban. It may help.

Is home birth not an option? Our hospitals "allow" VBAC, but they don't hesitate to remind you that you are a VBAC mom, and that is not conducive to any birthing mom. So if that's the case, maybe hire a couple people to be support systems. There are a lot of Doulas who will work for free or just gas compensation, if you want more info on that let me know. Have one be the "watch guard Doula" and the other be the "support Doula". I'd have at least 2 Doulas if I was birthing in the hospital, if we do transfer from our HB, our MW goes with us and our Doula as well, so I'll have that.

I traveled for my VBAC but I was able to stay with family. Is there a hospital that is VBAC friendly that is near your family? House sitting is another option.

I'd look for a doula who can check you and get you to the hospital when you're ready to push.
