Ok so I have stretch marks from my previous pregnancies and this time i thought i would try to prevent and more and treat the ones i have...I have heard so many women recemmend Bio-Oil so i bought it; it seemed fine at first but the all of a sudden i seem to be getting a rash from it...
So my question is what are all of you using or not using?

not using anything. after trying my hardest to avoid with the first two I have learned that if you are going to get them, you will get them.

I'm using Vitamin E oil (from Trader Joe's), but mostly for comfort. Not for cosmetics or protection. Like MP said, if you're going to get them, you're going to get them. Nothing you can do.

I use coconut oil and shea butter. I have one on my belly and one on each upper leg from my first pregnancy...so far I've only gotten one extra one on the other side of my belly. Mine aren't dark though so they aren't really visible which is fab!

As a chunky chick I have stretchmarks from port to stern and I've never really worried about them. I like slathering myself in oils/lotions but just because I have dry skin in general not because I am worried about stretch marks.

I was using coconut oil or lavender massage oil till I found an organic stretch mark product on sale which has lavender and other yummy smelling things. I have read that lavender and a few other aromatherapy things are good to add to a decent base for stretch mark prevention. So far at 35 weeks no stretch marks but there's still time... and I believe I am probably (hopefully) genetically lucky.

Stretch marks are just the way your skin is, and there's not much you can really do to stop them if you're prone. I have extremely resiliant skin, and even the really angry red stretch marks that appeared during my first pregnancy have magically disappeared. I probably could have guessed I'd be fortunate in that category, as my mom doesn't have a mark on her. It certainly doesn't hurt to keep your skin well nourished, but it won't stop them if you're nautrally prone.

I've read that it's good to drink a lot of water, to keep your skin hydrated. It certainly can't hurt; water is good for you anyway, and it's better than spending a lot of money on fancy creams!

Agree with pp, if you get them, you get them, and it's no big deal. The ones on my stomach from my first pregnancy are just skin-colored and aren't really noticeable. I always used a mix of Spectrum unrefined coconut oil and shea butter to try and prevent them, but mostly just to moisturize as usual and stop the itching. It's nice to melt CO and SB together and turn it into a butter-soft cream. Perfect for hair and skin every day, too, of course. I absolutely cannot live without coconut oil and shea butter.
