A shorter Moby-style carrier?

Hello - I'm on a search for a wrap-style carrier, similar to the Moby, but shorter in length: like the Moby D length, but perhaps closer in price to the original Moby.

I have two Moby wraps and absolutely love them - one is a Moby D - but it has a fleece center panel, which is great for when we're outside in cooler temps, and the other is the original Moby wrap: nice for warmer temps but so long on me -- I'm very petite and can wrap the "tail" around my waist twice on that one. The Moby D is a better length for me, but is too heavy for indoor wear.

I'm expecting my second baby this fall, and plan to do a lot of baby wearing to keep up with my toddler (who will be 2 this fall). Does something shorter, but similar, exist?

Just chop it. Someone w/ a serger could make it the perfect length for you!

Or you could just buy some jersey-knit fabric from the fabric store, cut to length you want, and voila, you have a homemade, custom-fit, stretchy wrap!

That's what I did. I did it because there isn't a store nearby where I could try on a Moby and I didn't want to risk spending so much in case I didn't like it. I bought 5 yards (sounds like you only need 4) and cut it lengthwise into two wraps, one to be kept in the car and one to keep at home. Worked out great for me!
