Allergy ring???

Noticed a red bum on LO last night. I've heard of the "red allergy ring" but i don't actually know what it looks like. This is just redness around his bum, area of the seat bones i guess. Anyone have pics or description? google wasn't much help on this.

it is around the anus and diaper cream usually does not help. It looks raw and sometimes has a slight texture to it. I hope that you figure it out. Try the allergy forum for more information.

An allergy ring looks like a red ring, slightly raised and raw, right around the anus opening. What you're describing sounds too far up. My son had horrible allergies, and this is what we saw and the dr. confirmed. Diaper cream does nothing as the PP mentioned.

DD2 has some of this. She has had it for most of her outside life so far. In her case, it is not allergy ring, it is just a lil rash. Their skin is SO sensitive & having poo sit against it can be really irritating. I put cream on it at every diaper change for many days & it finally went away. It was bumps in her bum crack and out onto her cheeks some.
