My DH's a PhD level research scientist at a university. We started grad school together, but his program took less time than mine and I took time off to take care of our kiddo.

He works. In construction. He is a drywall finisher by trade, but has been doing carpentry and trim work since the economy tanked. We were lucky that he had more then one trade to fall back on.

I also love living with a handy man. He can do a little bit of just about everything. So I go to sleep at night feeling like im in good hands.

Right now, he works part time (mostly evenings/weekends) at our local library. When the baby comes, he'll probably go back to full-time SAHD-ing, which he's not excited about. He might try to find something that is ONLY evenings, even if it's just a few hours, so he can get out. There isn't much for a SAHP to do in our town... no real activities or anything for kids.

He works full time as an animator / pre-vis artist for a film company. He's currently working on Happy Feet 2.
