Does a random tingling sensation mean anything? update #21: Calcium??? - Page 2

It's been a while, but just wanted to share a pattern I've noticed. It seems that when I take calcium supps (which I started days after I started the b12 the first time), the tingling goes away. When I go a few days without taking calcium, the tingling comes back.
I "tested" it recently, and didn't take any supps except for calcium- tingling went away. Now, after a few days of forgetting, it's coming back.

But this has me quite worried- if it is calcium and not some wierd coincidence, that means that my calcium is incredibly low, right? I was eating a mostly vegan diet a couple years ago, and added animal products when ds2 (now 14mos old) started having food sensitivities. So now I'm consuming dairy.

I've been reading about B12 and Calcium and a load of other stuff to lately and from what I've read, tingling can be a symptom of Calcium deficiency too.

My calcium numbers are ok (in doctor world) so I'm hoping that the B12 will help my tingling.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's read that! I hope b12 is the answer to yours.

I also realized that my calcium supp has vit D in it. I haven't looked into vit D and tingling yet, so I have no clue if it could be related. It just seems strange that I've been eating cheese and milk, and the tingling correlates specifically with the calcium supp. Maybe I just need a lot to get back to normal?

Ok, so I had the x-ray and everything looks great, spine-wise. I also had my levels tested for b12, calcium, and some other things (folate and iron, maybe, plus some others), and everything was in the normal range. The Dr. said my calcium was on the low end of normal, but everything else is great.

She didn't test vit. D, because she said that it was very hard to test vit D in a meaninful way. (?)

And still tingling. It's moved though. No longer in my thighs. It's always in my feet (which was happening before), and now my lips. The Dr. said that lips are considered an extremity. But I've not had tingling in my hands.
I notice it when I'm nursing, but I don't think it happens only when I'm nursing.

Just reading back through the thread, and this caught my eye. The Dr. didn't think MS was a possibility, because the tingling always followed the same path. She said that indicated it was mechanical and not neurological. I'm not sure how that pertains to Lyme disease or mercury though.

sigh. I'm going to keep taking calcium and b12, give it a few weeks, and see what happens. Then I suppose I'll go back to the Dr.

Get a copy of your bloodwork, eh? Double-check that you're at a good place within the reference range for all those things. I mean--I'm not sure that'd cause tingling (being low but w/i the ref range) but since you've got the paperwork, it's nice to use it fully.

I'm confused about the vitamin D comment as well.
