i WANT to love this.. i think it would be great. but so far i HATE both my carriers. they don't seem comfortable for either me or the baby! what am i doing wrong? i have a wrap that makes my DS all scrunched up and just doesn't feel right, and an ergo that kills my back.

I'm loving my (borrowed) pikkolo. She seems to fit in it better than in the ergo or any of the wraps and slings.

i am not loving the moby this time around, which is weird because i am so used to my newborns loving the wraps.

this little guy LOVES being in the babyhawk though.

having mixed success with the moby, which already makes us both hot in 70s temps. i have a hard time getting it tight enough...

still haven't tried the Ergo, a communication blurp b/n my husband and i left us thinking we couldn't use it til charlie weighs 7 lbs, but we have the insert which would have been fine to use w/ him at 5 lbs . oh well....

Im hating my ring sling, which sucks as living in AZ I got one made of solar veil and I was excited to use it, it makes Molly cry and me uncomfy. I think im doing something wrong. We love the Moby, but like someone else said in 90+ temps im worried she'll overheat. I wear her in the house in it, with the A/C cranked up

Jolesh - do you have anyone who can help you adjust the carriers? I had a heck of a time getting dd1 comfy in her ring sling until another mom showed me how to adjust it. After that we were golden!

In fact, the ring sling was the third carrier I tried with dd1 - she screamed at the first two I brought home. I ended up just taking her shopping with me.

With dd2 I discovered the mai tai, which was awesome, and we both loved it. I am looking forward to using it again when the girls are old enough that I can carry them front and back.

For now, I am pretty much limited to the Moby, which is awesome when I get it tight enough - like P+H I am having a hard time getting it wrapped right every time. I just have to remember that it is stretchy, and so I need to wrap it tighter than I think because the weight of the babies will pull it down.

i am not BWing too much right now - i am still swollen & it hurts to walk/stand more than a couple min. i did have a good moby experience on a quick food shopping trip.

I dont know how people can get buy with one or two slings! lol

I have a few rings slings that are great for quick things. Best when he is in 'awake' mode. I pop him in and I can at least get breakfast, etc.

The wraps I have are woven - much more supportive. I do have a stretchy one but hes a big lad! lol... Best for when he wants to sleep for a stretch. I even hoovered the stairs yesterday with him in it! lol

We have an ergo - but really, I find that best for older babies/toddlers.

I find the wrap easier if I swaddle ds before putting him in.. it keeps his body more firm and in-line, so he's not likely to slouch and get all bunched up in there. also, when i did it tighter and put him in about 6 inches higher (head just under my neck) it was a lot more comfy and secure. like pps say, it sags down eventually when not tight enough.

I'm using my ergo now that ds is bigger (10.5 lbs) and it's getting warmer here. I like the stretchy wraps for tiny babes, but they just aren't supportive enough when the get heavier, imo. Plus, I'm just so much faster at throwing on the ergo. I put him in it without the insert, and let on leg hang out and the other froggied up. He loves it in there.
I have a pouch, but I hardly use it, I like ring slings better so I need to get a new one, since I wore my old one right out.
One trick jolesh, is to make sure baby is well fed and happy when trying out different carriers or I find nothing works. It is a lot of trial and error...

Your baby shouldn't be all scrunched up in the wrap - it's probably not tight enough, or not wrapped properly.

I have a sleeping baby on my chest right now so I won't post any links, but lots of babywearing websites have photo tutorials on how to wrap, and I'm sure you can find something on youtube as well.

I froggied anna in the ergo for the first time tonight. It was fairly comfy but sits pretty low on my hips so it would be hard for me to climb stairs in.

I went shopping for the first time with baby today, with him froggied in Beco Butterfly. I could not imagine walking around the store with him in the RS, maybe in an upright position, but I haven't mastered that one yet. I only tried Moby once this time around because I don't like walking in it and I prefer RS for around the house. It definitely takes a little bit of time to experiment with what works.

We're loving the RS. I keep it properly adjusted, and other than the occasional re-tightening, I love that I can just throw it on and go.
I find it's much easier to do the major adjusting with Z out of it, and then just fine-tune it a little bit once she's inside.

I love my wraps (Moby and Baby K'tan) but Astrid does not. She likes to be upright and the cradle position makes her very upset (she's very long like her daddy and I'm very short so I think that's part of the problem).
She likes the Ergo, but it feels a little bulky and hard for me to see over with the infant insert.
But we just found the solution! I got a Freehand mai tai and we both love, love, love it. She gets to be upright and secure and it's great for short torsos so I can walk, eat, do dishes, etc. with her strapped on. She falls asleep as soon as I put her in it.

First. SHANTIANI!!!!! I was just about to ask if anyone had heard from you Second, I love my Freehand!!! I've had it since my last one and don't even use other slings My babies have never liked being in the cradle hold so it's a perfect sling for them.

I like the Moby when I get it right, and when LO is in a good mood. Too much annoyance when he's already grumpy, though.

I want a Mei Tai so badly but we can't justify getting another carrier when I already have a very pricey Maya organic ring sling, a wrap, and a Belle carrier for when she has neck strength. Maybe I can find someone who'd trade the ring sling since apparently my back can't handle it.
