favorite wipe fabrics/sizes??

Hi, I"m doing some last minute prep for our new babe and need to make us some wipes. I have quite a bit of dipe fabric (Hemp fleece, hemp french terry, velour--though I don't know if I can bear to cut into it for wipes, though I know it's supposed to be great for it!, sherpa...) Anyway wondering what fabric combos you like and what is your favorite size. Also, I have a serger if it matters.....

Thanks in advance mamas!!!

I used terry & flannel by taking an old baby hooded towel & old baby flannel blanket. I cut them into about 7 inch by 7 inch squares & zigzagged stitched them together.
I've also used little squares of polar fleece which gives you a no-sew alternative.

My favorite combo is flannel and velour-soft and "grabby" when you're trying to clean dirty hands or a baby's bum (not with the same one though LOL)
I like the smaller size (7x7)for bum wipes but a little bigger for baths and general cleaning.
I think sherpa would be great. Terry is good too but over time I think they get stiff and scratchy.
Good luck

I agree with Ann, I like Velour and flannel, though my baby has turned into a toddler and I like wipes that are 8x8 now for the bigger bum.

I agree w/Ann & OTMomma!

Flannel & velour are my faves! I like the sherpa I have too. I just got some flannel/velour & wish I had a larger size as they are 6x6 for my 8 mo old....I 'd like 8x8 next time!

thanks a lot for the responses! I appreciate it. I made some 8x8 and think I'll like them. Oh, I wish I could make myself cut into my velour...it's so bee-yu-ti-ful. I made some flannel w/a terry-ish other side. I think I may make a few luxury wipes! :LOL Especially w/even *more* velour recommendations.

Thanks mamas.

I do mine 8x8 with either 2 layers of t-shirt fabric or 1 layer of heavier fabric. Rib-knit shirts work nice, sweatshirts if they have a high cotton content, stuff like that. Cutting up ruined clothes is a lot easier than cutting precious yardage into tiny pieces like that!
